"No Time for your Games:" An Atlas node to remove The Maven from maps

Setting aside the "you can already do this manually" reasoning...

This wouldn't be added as a passive because of the t17 map mod that causes the Maven to interfere. An atlas passive like you describe would remove the added challenge the modifier is meant to add.

I just don't want to be bothered with Maven and that whole lot. Ever.

Atlas bosses are a central thematic mechanic to POE. Sorry?

So? Re-read my OP. I have no interest in or intention to engage with the "thematic mechanic" you describe. I just want to run maps. Do you understand? I'm not asking you to agree with me, just whether or not you comprehend my statement.

You want to run maps, maps that are part of the Atlas, in POE. You understand you are complaining about the Atlas bosses, a central part of POE. Maybe consider running maps/dungeons in a different game. Have you tried Diablo?

Like others said, don't forget that The Atlas has a theme around it.

Imagine running through the story and someone complaining they have to fight Kitava....it's a central part of the story of the game.

I'm getting a lot of "You should really just do the Maven stuff, because that's how it's supposed to be."

Why should running maps past Tier 5 mandate participating in "aspirational content" to which a player might not aspire? This suggestion is simply what I would like to see. It's not an invitation for every keyboard commando on the forum to show me the error of my ways.

This is a vast overstatement and mis-characterization of what has been said.

The second you get past the first round of maven which is THREE maps (?)....you can then silence her forever.

Not one person is telling you to "just do the maven stuff": they are telling you that you need to get to a point, and then you can make her go away. If we were telling you to "just do the maven stuff", there is a LOT more than her first round to do.

Maven is NOT aspirational content. Only the actual Maven FIGHT could be considered aspirational content.

They're not really saying that last part.

Maven is a part of the Atlas Quest Line. You need to engage a little bit with her to progress that line. Progressing that quest line will get you access to things you might want/need, like Voidstones (and a lot of Atlas passive points) to upgrade your Atlas.

So we do not need an Atlas node for that, as you can disable her without it. This is just a "suck it up and engage with her a tiny bit" thing. Good luck.

Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
OP, if you really want Maven to stop spawning, like you really can't stand her being around, just grab the first boss fight invitation she drops and never use it.

She literally can't spawn while there's an invitation ready to be run.

Other than that, there's a glowy button right above your map device slots that you should be able to disable by clicking on it.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.

By invitation, you mean her Beacon? Then what do I do with it? Slot it into the Map Device? If it's that simple, sure, that's the perfect solution to my issue with her, and thanks for clarifying it.

Oh, you haven't even collected her beacon yet? The beacon enables you to use the button which allows you to toggle her on and off. Definitely grab and install that.

ITT:

newbie expressing genuine dislike of maven, likely facing difficulties fighting her and not knowing how to get rid of her.

some forumers responding very negatively while throwing subtle or obvious jabs at OP for not liking maven mechanic and telling OP that POE is not the game for them.

Good job guys.

well some of you did tell OP what he needed to hear. but for OP's benefit let me give some info

maven will randomly occur on certain tiers of maps, and asks the player to challenge her invitations.

there are 2 ways to deal with this

1. DONT DO HER INVITES. this will lock the "quest" state so she will not invade your maps in the future. She will continue invading your higher tier maps to a certain point if you do challenge her invite.

2. COMPLETE HER INVITES. once you've completed her invites enough (progressed to higher tier invites), you will have the option to enable/disable maven from invading your maps.

so you have 2 choices on how to deal with this.

i've played this game for a long time so whenever i m having issues with using my weak ass build, i tend to just not bother with her invites until much later as its just unnecessarily difficult with little benefit (if you're weak). and only start clearing her invites later when i m stronger.

as for the negative forumers here. come on guys. its 2024. you still wanna gatekeep the game?

more players is almost always good. GGG makes more money, we get more content. more players means more ppl wanting to buy stuff on trade and sell stuff that more efficient players dont bother picking up.
