"No Time for your Games:" An Atlas node to remove The Maven from maps
I would like to see a node on the Atlas which allows for The Maven and all related mechanics to be removed from maps. Sometimes, all a player wants to do is to fight the map boss, without some floaty, larval demiurge interfering, often even after the fight is over. If I don't intend to play the higher-level content, I don't want to endure the lead-in bits.

When you put a map in the map device, and The Maven icon is glowing, just click it off.
I'm pretty sure the game shows you this either right when you unlock the maven in the map device, or at least when you unlock eater/exarch the first time. Last edited by mefistozxz on Sep 24, 2024, 6:09:20 PM

" Oh. The Maven icon never glows in my map device because I never take things that far with her. I have also never unlocked eater/exarch. I just don't want her to appear in my maps, period. |

" Atlas bosses are a central thematic mechanic to POE. Sorry? “Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.”

" So? Re-read my OP. I have no interest in or intention to engage with the "thematic mechanic" you describe. I just want to run maps. Do you understand? I'm not asking you to agree with me, just whether or not you comprehend my statement. |

You only have to do one encounter with her appearing and after that you can just not turn on the beacon for her.
Having at Atlas Passive for it would be pointless since you already can choose not to encounter her, after encountering her once. Doing a single Maven-influenced boss to be able to turn it off is a small ask. (Of course, Maven and the other Eldritch influences are major parts of the progression system, as they unlock Atlas passive points for completing them, but you do at least have the option of when you'd like to apply these, after the first encounter with them) |
