Definitely done with PoE for a while

" If you want to go in blind then don't complaing about something that you don't even understand. "Let me do eater of worlds. Why am I getting 1 shot when the boss does that laser thingy and a circle touches the edges? So badly designed.Awful boss." " Reading aint your forte, 2h to understand everything you need to know about the GAME, not the boss. Boss takes literal 1 minute to read all his attacks and what you got to do. " He is doing quest bosses, they do drop something: the voidstones. " Sure, people are paying for quest infinite hunger carries all the time, you are so right. How could I forget. " I mean, if you stay in global 820 or even 420 for a few minutes you always see random people asking for help with either a t17 boss, or their quest exarch eater, or maven for voidstone etc. So people most definitely do ask for help with these bosses and some probably even pay for a carry yes. And Infinite Hunger is such a bad boss so ofc people would have trouble with that sea mechanic lol
Path of Exile is not for everyone, just how Fromsoft games aren't for everyone. Easier games within the same genre exist. I don't see any issues here.

If someone wants an easy game they can just play D4 or last epoch or any other similar, nothing wrong with that(poe2 will be way easier probably so there's that and I can't wait to play it too).
What I hate to see is people that play poe, and instead of trying to improve and research want everything handed to them without any effort or even spending 10 seconds reading anything, because that is too much effort for them. They complaing about something without even understanding said something, like people that play a soulsgame as you mentioned but instead of improving they bash the game and say its too hard and only for "tryhards that spend 40h everyday". bosses in this game suck in general. even those tutorial ones for voidstones.. for exarch you do a bi of damage to him, ball phase starts. you do a bit more damage, ball phase starts again. this repeats like 5 times. even in the first one that supposed to be an easy tutorial one. why does that even need 5 ball phases? the other guy is almost as annoying with his step on the black balls phases

"Because it is thematic and fits the character. An eldritch god hurling hard hitting mini suns at you. Not a fire themed striking dummy. Have you skipped the story? ;)

bosses in this game are better than any other arpg ever made by a million miles.
ultimately if you cant reach them or beat them when you get there then theyve not been designed for you to reach or beat. people can learn the mechanics from playing the game, that doesnt mean it isnt easier for someone whos taken the time to do that to show others how to do it rather than them learn by trial and error themselves. its just a game man, if theres bits of content that take too much effort for you to reach or beat then they were not designed for you to reach or beat them. do the bits you are able to do and when you dont want to do any more turn off the game, come back when you want to play again. thats not a failure of the game and its not a failure of the player, its fine. |

" I wonder if this is an age issue. For us that played a lot of video games in the eighties and nineties, we are used to big, fat manuals/cover inlets you more or less had to read - sometimes just to even get started with the game. Some of them had several hundred pages. Hell, even within this genre, not many people beat Diablo 2 on Hell difficulty without reading some Baal guides, Uber Tristram guides or build guides - or at least talk with other players and get some help. These days, everything needs to be linear and more or less straight forward, it seems. If someone can't beat a boss on the first, second or third try on a shit build, it's always the game's fault for not teaching them how to build or how to fight, even though the answers for everything is just a few clicks away. Now, should some of the in-game information be better? Sure (even though people aren't even using the information that is already there). Are some of the boss fights in PoE bad? Sure, which is bound to happen in a game with several hundred bosses. But if a player is having a problem with anything, what is so bad about seeking an answer to that question from other players (aka The Wiki)? Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you. Last edited by Phrazz on Sep 13, 2024, 2:06:32 PM
