Will it work if I link arcanist brand with flame surge, curse and combustion? Trying to get rid of lightning spire trap.

Elemental Equilibrium: "Adds Elemental Damage"


It appears that "Adds # to # Cold Damage" alone from Blizzard Crown is enough to trigger EE.

PS: I didn't take into account polaric devastation's "covered in ash" as a factor here, but since it affects all damage given that everything ignites, it should apply to all test conditions and wouldn't affect the results here.

let's compare.

21/20 ignite prolif gives:
20 radius prolif,
25% more damage with ignite,
10% increased fire damage

21/20 elemental damage with attacks gives:
35% more ele damage,
10% ele damage with attack skills

we usually use ignite prolif when we're starting out since there's no easy way to spread our ignites. once we have access to glove implicits, elemental damage with attacks support becomes way stronger. it also opens us up to the awakened version (39% more at lvl 5, but since we're on a +2 or +3 bow, it can get to 40%/41% more).

Searing Exarch implicits (from eldritch EMBER currencies) include a prolif mod for this: "Ignites you inflict spread to other Enemies within a Radius of #". the lowest tier we get by using Lesser Eldritch Embers gets us a prolif radius of 12, which is sufficient for most instances.
the weight of this mod is 2400 compared to a few other 6000 mods, so you might need to spam a few to get this.

combustion support (-10% fire res) only gets applied if the skill it's linked to damages the target. in this setup, we can't deal any damage through frenzy or arcanist brands, since these are by us, and Ancestral Bond prevents that.

however, traps are not considered us and they do deal damage when triggered, so we can use this quirk to apply combustion's effect on targets hit by it.

in other words, we can only get combustion to work if it's linked to a skill that can deal damage. traps are useful for this, and lightning spire is chosen since it hits multiple times (instead of most others that only hits once).

thank you for the reply. i got in on my gloves now. i noticed you have one on your boots too. is that from the lesser ichor curremcy?
are you referring to this eater implicit? if so, it is indeed from ichor currencies.

Ignites you inflict deal Damage #% faster


anyway, it's different from ignite proliferation. instead, this mod lets us compress the same damage we can do over a shorter time, and is usually not a huge factor in the earlier stages since we're running a belt called Dyadian Dawn which gives a huge 35% (to 44% if catalysed) faster ignite.

however, if you're using a different belt, then mods that give you faster ignite become very valuable (esp. in sanctums if you want to kill guards before that look at you funny).

I loved playing around with this build and my goal was to balance defense and offense a bit. So the end result is basically this:

If anybody has some suggestions I would really appreciate it. Sometimes you just overlook the simple things in your "own build".
I'm ready to craft a +1 and +2 bow, but am not sure how.

I'm starting from the porcupine 6 link, but some of the guides are very complicated. I've watched the Palsteron videos over and over again and he doesn't quite explain it. At least, not that I can tell.

i'm lifting this off Maxroll and this has been concise for almost everyone who wanted to craft a similar +3 bow.

Once you have 2xDivine Orbs, you can upgrade your Bow to its last stage. Take your 6-linked Short Bow and use Shrieking Essence of Dreads until you get the following mods:

+2 to Level of Socketed Bow Gems
% increased Attack Speed (11% or higher)
At least 1 open Prefix
Exactly 1 open Suffix

Go to your Crafting Bench and add Cannot Roll Attack Mods, which costs 1 Divine Orb.

Now apply a Exalted Orb to the item. Because the crafted mod blocked all possible attack mods from rolling, the only mod left is +1 Level of Socketed Gems.

Remove the craft and replace it with Fire Damage over Time Multiplier.
