Hey man, really nice build so far, super smooth starter & really good guide as well.

I just have two questions if you dont mind me asking and I dont remember seeing them answered. Why unearth over desecrate (at least until lvl 30 unearth) and why not necro?

You get more life on Unearth base quality while on early levels of maps. Desecrate+Spectre gets better than say, a level 24 unearth around T11 maps iirc. But Unearth is also consistent so, there's that too.

And not Necro because the defenses we stack are already great and Elementalist does nearly double the damage. Also ignite proliferation explosions are great.

OP simply went elementalist because its more damage, necro can be used aa a more defensive choice (new endgame jewels opens up some options here). Unearth gives consistent damage for ignite even before the desecrate nerfs, so simple unearth is a better option if you want consistent non-variable damage, its just more expensive to get running like butter.

EDIT: Just realized op answered this question, in retrospect I should've checked first lol

TLDR:
Softcore -> Elementalist
Hardcore -> Necromancer

Of course the new jewels open up a lot of potential options but that's kind of a fringe case scenerio.

But yeah, corpse pact or profane bloom on Elementalist or Shaper of Flames on Necromancer would be ridiculous.

Well, that was expensive, but 28/71 phantasmal unearth is about as high as it's going to get for a while.
Hey loving the build, im very tanky but i do 0 damage (must be less than a mill). i can kinda nuke map bosses with vaal ce but thats it. ive got lvl 90 corpses with normal unearth. do i really need the phantasmal variant to get any damage going?
I could do T16s without phantasmal unearth, but it wasn't very fun.

I was using obliteration with higher unearth levels, so it was similar to you at the moment I think.

You don't need phantasmal per se - you can of course invest in a better weapon, unearth levels, and support DPS gems. But yes, it's very, very good.

Phantasmal Unearth basically more than doubles your DPS on its own. This gets scaled even further with gem level and with things like Enhance and Ashes of the Stars amulet.

Meanwhile Phantasmal Unearths are upwards of 9-10ex xD RIP me
At about 7ex it becomes worthwhile trying to roll your own, from the numbers you gave me yesterday, so at least there's an upper limit at these prime regrading prices.

Yeah for now I'm biding my time while I work on another project. Haha
Hi Gryph, how would I go about crafting a fire dot multi wand like in your gear section?
