Seeing messages from people above, I tried to use Pale Angels, and it's hard for me to believe that people could kill someone with them
I used the Pledge of Hands 5 link with Pale Angels, and tested them on 2x tier 5 maps
they do absolutely ZERO damage, even when their beam hits someone, it does little damage, on the boss the HP bar shudders a little from this, most of the hits they just miss
even Demon Heralds do 10 times more damage according to my feelings
maybe I'm doing something wrong and there is some secret in using Pale Angels?

Nice. I was focused on bossing, so I use vixen's.

Did you try using corpsewalker as well? It makes sure you always have corpse nearby for summoning! I'm also thinking to anoint whisper of doom and just have 2 curse on aura and self cast mark for bossing.


I dpn't think corpsewalker is needed, corpses are never the issue. But I like double curse aura. I got my 6link and once I have enlighten and golden oils I will try how good it goes. But I think I will use a defensive curse like enfeeble since red maps nightmare is actually RIPy.
Does the double damage portion of awakened spell echo affect skeleton mage?

Also thanks again for the guide :D first league where I did all the end game boss/invitations


Last couple of upgrade is a +1/+1 neck & corrupt +2 flesh

I'm thinking of one only as a support. I'm already running Cold Conversion Syndicate Operatives and would like to test trading one SO for more single target with a crab if it's indeed true that the debuff is 50% increased cold damage.

Clear is no problem for my build at all. But the crabs might help my build start instaphasing Guardians and Sirus again with a little more gear. A 50% damage modifier would be massive.

Have You Seen The Pale Angels in scourge?
You definitely have to make a build for them like for the prearchers or slave drivers,the angels cast divine ire and their damage is very good even without lighning on gear.
Can't imagine how good they can be with lighning focused gear😊🤗
Im using them with your minion army build,using no lighning support or gear,just spell echo and minion speed on 4 link and they melt everything on their path,also im using convocation when avalible with 40% cd recovery rate,makes me feel casting convocation faster,so make spectres cast more quickly.
Have 3 spectres yet,so im thinking on a transistion to spectre build with a bit of investment.

Hi,

I’m using Pale Angels with minimal investment, no lightning or elemental support gems, infact I’m using physical damage auras and curses for my skeletons.

Lv25 spectre gem, linked to lifetap, spell echo and meat shield.

I found them to be great aoe damage, killing mobs really quickly and damaging rares especially if 4 of them beam together. I’m using Kay’s starter build btw, currently at tier 10 maps and Pale Angels still doing well.

If you’re wondering why I’m using meatshield, it’s mainly to position them to clear mobs in a coordinated fashion, with most of them beaming next to each other.

I think that utilising Pale Angel into pledge of hands without accounting for the other spectre source of damage such as spectre gem level, skill tree optimisation, unending hunger or even fleshcrafter + elemental auras is really difficult.

P.S, where you just using Pale Angels by themselves? I believe that they are more suited as an ‘artillery minion’, have them on the back dealing damage and clearing waves while your other source of damage focuses on single target. I’ll imagine that the lv30 greater spell echo from pledge of hands would enable massive aoe on those beams, if you position them all correctly with meatshield and convocation, it’ll be impossible to miss.

I play a different summoner than the one in the guide (similar to the ancient auramancer) but it uses a lot of the same principles. Any ideas on what to replace the EE mechanic with are welcome.

I've started POB theorycraft for ele spectres. I'm just thinking about spectres in 6L body.

There are two options:

1. +1 spectre armour, use awakened pen in links, ele pen mastery

5 spectres
50% ele pen + exposure

I guess about 35% less damage than before because we swap 'more' gem for ele pen. Still problem when we get ele res mod on maps though.


2. fleshcrafter, change curse to sniper/poacher/assassin or punishment

4 spectres like before 3.8 patch, but need chaos res or natural ES

5 to 4 spectres is 20% less damage, but ignore ele res mean ele res mod is free quant mod :) and no more casting brand for EE ("this is a buff")


I'm thinking to make Baranite Preachers first because ball lightning should be really nice for scourge.

I think people are being too harsh on spectres. Oh no we lost 25% damage and our beloved SO. I am SSF and rocking over a million damage with my 4 shitty Demon Herders. Most damage I did anyway ever was about 5-7 million DPS with SO in SSF. Now I have started playing with a few ideas and think I may be able to push out 2-3 million DPS by 90. You could say I am on mediocre gear at this point, I haven't even got my +1 yet, let alone +2, and additional 100% minion damage from jewelry and gloves. With the added Demon and much better gear I am thinking 4 mil. No, it's not 30 million or any ridiculous number, but it is enough to clear ALL content easily.

Running bone armor and armor for phys reduction. Only 4.4k life but does not feel squishy at all right now. If I want to switch to glass cannon, add the nerfed EE, add in a +2 frenzy/+2 charge shield, add flesh, then I bet I can push almost 10 million with Demon herders late game. Their clear is really something when they do enough damage. Clear entire map screen in half a second. Don't get me started on 250+ scourges. Those happen all the time because each time I go in they absolutely clear everything in mere seconds.
A qq, is maw of mischief required for mages? I feel they are mostly stationary and +1 max skeleton helmet would work out better.
