Hard to gauge. I spent excessively to get nearly perfect minion life gear

Like these...I spent almost 45ex making these because I was being picky. Completely unnecessary but they are f'ing nice! :P

I'd say 2-3ex to cover all the jewels

Kitava's Teachings: 1ex
Fortress Covenant: 40c+ depending on roll
Calamitous Visions: 35c
Medium Clusters: literally maybe 10c each
Large Cluster: 100c+ for 8 passive and 3 correct notables
Good Corrupted Blood Jewel: 1ex-ish probably
Minion Jewel with fire damage to minions...probably not very much

Helmet with +3 Minion Levels and Minion Life: About 1-3ex depending on other stats. Or you can craft one yourself with single resonator Bound Fossils. Takes an Average of 15 according to craft of exile.

1 Circle ring with reduced reservation+Sentinel Damage is roughly 100c-1ex. If you don't need the reservation, you can get phys damage reduction and those are like 10-20c

Deafening Essences of Fear are 7c in bulk. ~20:1ex. I would use these on synthesized gloves+boots (bases aren't too expensive) 1 piece at a time depending on budget and use generic rares in the meantime. Each piece with 40-45% max life is worth 10-13% more damage, so it is quite impactful.

Chest should be a hunter base so that you can get extra curse. Buy one with some resists or use Fear Essences to craft one. Look for resists. Extra Curse can be forced for 2ex->Suffixes Cannot be Changed Craft+Reforge Rare with Caster modifier from Harvest. Hope for open prefix for bench crafted 10% of max life as extra ES.

The wand will be as good as you want to invest into it. +2 with unveiled trigger is like 14ex starting price. You don't NEED +2 but it definitely helps.

Amulet can be generic life+resists until a +2 can be crafted and afforded.

One of the things I like about this build is that it functions well on lower end budgets but has a lot of places to min max.

Yeah it's not too bad really. that said, you definitely CAN spend that much and more as you minmax. I plan to league start 3.16 with this (pending any nerfs of course)

That said, if you know where to invest you can get huge amounts of extra damage. Most of that comes from the helmet.


Something like this is about as good as you can get (some tiers can be higher of course). This is extremely expensive to craft but is worth about 70-80% more damage than the base +3/Minion Life Helmet. The intermediate helmet would be Just adding Conc Effect or Less duration on an Elder only helmet.

But like, +3 +Minion Life Helmet is what I was using for a while and got to over 4m damage per Sentinel Explosion as it was before adding the Animate Guardian for roughly 30-40% more damage as well.

There's a lot of scaling and meaningful investments basically, is what I'm saying.

Really interesting concept. I'm currently levelling this and started out with exploding SRS, but I just didn't like the mana cost involved so I switched to "pure" exploding skeletons at around level 31.

While killing packs, I rarely ever get any sentinels of purity, since my skellies don't really ignite a lot. I switched to combustion instead of ignite prolif to get some more consistency. How much does the belt improve this? I'd guess a lot?

Edit: I'm not really a fan of giving up my shield slot just to lower the resist of my minions. I'd rather have some block, but we will see. I'm currently using a +1 phys scepter and the skelly scepter, which blows them up real quick.

Single target dps is absolutely bonkers - I just oneshot Daresso in Act 4 (if he wouldn't phase he would've died instantly) with 4 sentinels, that's insane :D

Regarding the shield. I had the same thoughts originally. I went for Mistress of Sacrifice and bone offering with a +1 phys ES% on block shield....and it actually feels worse defensively.

The thing the Lens does is give consistent GOOD life recovery from our minions dying. Sentinel Dies? 3.8k life recovered instantly. Skellies dying is like 230 per skellie. It's actually insane. And the -50% res helps a lot for feeling smooth to play.

I like going skeletons with the scepter early if it's available. I'll test some different leveling setups as 3.16 gets closer.

For now, I'm responding via mobile because I already packed my PC in preparation for our move. :)
I was considering spending the points that would lead to Aegis on some of the block nodes and grabbing glancing blows + some more HP. With Bone Offering and Tempest shield that should get me close to maxed block.

Anyway, I'll give it a shot "your way" and if I die too much, I'll adapt. Only level 43 now, but it starts feeling really good.

Lol yeah that's exactly what I did. Grabbed the block nodes and GB and bone offering. I even went as far as making an elevated offering effect+minion life+extra curse chest chest to get more block and life on block from bone offering so that I could drop Glancing Blows (GB feels really meh overall to me). It helped, but not enough imo.

I just put on the belt and holy crap does it enable the build. I would usually have to recast some skellies on tanky rares (using from dust currently), but the belt usually spawns at least one sentinel per pack which blows up the rare. Amazing

I try to do a fair amount of testing before I write a guide for something. Spent like 40ex making the aforementioned chest piece just to end up scrapping it. Hehe.

The belt helps a ton. Ignite Proliferation+Combustion on Herald will also help a lot. That said you want more chance to ignite than 25%. Flammability helps as well as Raze and Pillage from large cluster also add a lot of %chance.

I tend to spam ball lightning to apply EE and curses. This also helps spawning sentinels when there are rares in the pack.

If I had the currency, I would probably do the good old suffixes can't be changed into aisling T4 and hope for something decent. Anyways, good enough for now I guess. Decided to go with an ES base to get some more EHP.

Chest looks pretty decent honestly. Can always block mana and slap it with a T3 Leo and pray for life. 10%of max life as extra ES is probably going to net you more eHP than 85 life.

Gloves are good. Boots are hard to make and probably the last piece I would self craft. That's really only because you can get a lot out of a cheap pair of rare boots for MS and Resists. But for those (when you have the budget) you can spam for good suffixes, then lock suffixes after happy, and use a veiled chaos orb/aisling to get your movement speed roll. Craft cannot be frozen or life from there.
