[3.15] The Raining Tempest. *Deadeye* 4M+ DPS - Dual Curse - League Starter
Re uploaded PoB, changed Hydrosphere to Sigil of Power.
" How is the clear with Inpulsa? I'm about to buy mine. Hoping it helps clear otherwise I may need to invest more into AoE, or cram in more proj.
Gyus, idk..
I did idea build before PoB update.. But after update i got barely any decent dps.. especially in main dmg feature and thats "BEAM" I doubt this skill can be used as heavy end game clear gem either to be honest.. Quite dissapoiment behind that gem. Maybe i wouldn't even suggest that as Ranger gem but more like focusing on "Aoe/Spell" Dmg if it wouldn't have "projectile/bow". Tried even Tempest bow.. I got even lesser dmg than with Death Opus just for sake to have these beams.. You can take a look.. Maybe you find way to improve it but i don't see one right now and this is "endgame" version of that build so when you barely start mapping you will have heavily less dsp.. https://pastebin.com/TpQVmH5Q
They explode, but first you need to kill them and that's not easy, in POB she got 21k on storm rain (1 curse) that is BS, and on same level of gem but with lightning arrow - 72k
Sorry i told her level again with toxic rain this time.
Thanks @bodhe for the guide, clean and very well explained.
I'm currently level 79 fully ascended and doing T5's fine.(tabby and 5L tempest) There's always a risk to try new skills at league start (look at reaper.. not even Ghazzy could it make it work). The main problem is the sum of changes in the league that make Deadeye even more squishy...and was already in a bad spot.. (maybe i'm wrong here....) My gear is terrible and I only have 3.5k life... so i get one tapped a lot. But this is the reality of Deadeye imho...always has been a kill everything before they touch you.. hence TornadoShot and IceShot were so popular a while ago. I report back if i'm able to get enough to buy asenath and impulsa. Thanks for taking the time to test things and keep the guide up to date
" This skill reminds me a lot of toxic rain. Slow to deal damage, except toxic rain can easily scale, and has a slow it can apply, and it can do reflect maps and kill proximity shield enemies.
Major rework incoming. We all know the Storm Rain gem is lackluster, that's what we get trying a new skill. The build can be salvaged pretty easy. I think Storm Rain has great single target potential, and with some investment might be op even. If nothing else it is a broken CC skill, able to lock everything in place with knockback. Lightning Arrow is top tier for clearing. I have rebuilt the PoB with LA as main damage dealer, with SR totems to provide excellent single target and CC. PoB is updated, just reimport after updating PoB. I am still curious on 2 other versions of this build. Poison, and INT stacking cold dmg. The amount of hits generated is pretty impressive and I think can still be scaled to good numbers.
So are u just remaking this into lightning arrow?

I'm playing the same kind of build, and still trying to decide wether or not I'm focusing solely on lightning arrow or storm rain.
current state is that lightning arrow is as usual a wonderful map clear tool, and that on anything that has the ability to live through 2/3 hits, I switch to storm rain, use poacher's mark, and facetanks the shit out of it through sheer hundreds of hits per second. that pretty fun, but does not live for long in higher levels due to too many one shot mechanics. I'm at a point where I'm trying to find solution to maintain a decent uptime while running for my life. mirage archer works meh. I'll try totems soon to see where this goes, but as nothing in the build boosts totems, I doubt it'll be any fun. however, for the bow, I found the tempest bow very good, as I'm running wrath + herald of thunder, with multiple flat lightning source on the stuff. I'm sure it can shine, I just haven't figured out how yet. |

Hi, first of all thank you for the build guide. After messing around during leveling, it seems Storm Rain could be insane as a totem build? The skill itself seems interesting, in my opinion, but I dealt very low damage using it myself on top of trying to run around to not die. That seems like a problem that totem can solve? How good do you think the clear could be as a pure totem build? That said, the way you have it with lightning arrow as clear skill and storm rain totem to help with bosses seems to be working fine, but do you think it's better to go one or the other, or both like this?
Also, why did you choose Tempest over, for example, a rare thicket bow with high flat lightning and attack speed? Last edited by nattJ0b on Jul 26, 2021, 8:15:28 AM
