Mistwall is great for defense, but it'll seriously hit your single target damage. Another weapon is a big improvement. The usual advice here is, Mistwall for mapping, 2 weapons for bossing.

Speaking of weapons... yours is in serious need of an upgrade. That wand is 88% lightning spell damage in total, and 101 to mana. The flat lightning damage isn't much of a boost. You can buy better weapons for 5 chaos. Hopefully you're not in SSF.

2 mana flasks are unnecessary, and the enduring affix is on the wrong one, it should be on the Eternal. Poison flask is likely not needed either, I haven't run into chaos damage that I can't out-heal with Agnostic yet.

Gloves with faster casting would be nice.

Divine that helmet to 21%.

Ty for taking a look. I am in SSF. I usually play melee and I did Sirus 3 times on my melee but I stalled out on Maven content. (I played last in Delirium.) Maven is too much for me so I was hoping to roll up something tankier. I got a helmet and a mistwall so I thought this build would make sense.

I totally see that dropping mistwall on bosses makes sense. I will do so as soon as I can unfuck my resists. Great advice.

Replacing my shit wand is definitely priority number one. I'm targeting harvest now and picking up everything tier 3 and up for rare bases.

Should my next step be swapping to clusters? Looks like it gives me a decent boost to damage (from about 5m to 7m) on POB but i lose a little HP. Not sure what else i should be doing other than trying to get like a 20-30 ex conductibvity ring with some resists on it, or a hunter % health belt for about the same price.

Sitting on about 40ex.

Conductivity ring can be crafted for a lot less than that - or just bought outright. I don't think I paid 2ex for mine.

Quality on a bunch of your skill / support gems for sure. You could get some alternate quality gems as well - Anomalous Concentrated Effect is nice, and it's less than 100c. And 21/23 on both arcane surge and cloak.

I'd divine your watcher's eye until you get 6% on both life and mana, but that might just be me. :)

A second weapon for bossing would likely speed up tough bosses by quite a bit. Mistwall is great for mapping, but otherwise... /me grimaces.

After that I'd go for the big $$$ upgrades - unnatural instinct and clusters. With 40ex you should be able to do all those, including the UI & clusters, I think.

Honestly, not a lot to suggest. You're likely pushing out a fair bit more DPS than I am.

Why Enlighten? The only gem it supports is Grace, and you should only every be using Vaal Grace.

Also, might want to throw some armourer scraps at your helmet, boots, and gloves. And catalysts at your amulet, ring and belt while you're there.

Enlighten is there only to be leveled up, I removed righteous fire because I don't really like the slower mana regen it causes. Might try it again...

Any opinion on intensify vs conc effect for blade blast?

I just leave it on all the time. My regen with it on is ~1400, with it off is ~2000. I can stand still in the lab traps with RF up and I don't take any damage.

The only way to turn RF off is to change zones, as in, portal out and back, use a flask with immune to ignite, or let your health drop to 1.


That definitely USED to be the case, and it was insanely annoying. But I thought they made an update last league or this league so that it turns off if you unsocket the gem? Guess I'll test that later when I'm at home.

@Xeeoph: I would just buy a helmet with the enchantment you want; mine was only 1 ex a few weeks ago. Even with this league's change to helmet enchantments, I don't think it's worth trying to farm one particular one. You could realistically run the lab hundreds of times without ever seeing the helmet enchantment you want!


Following up on this, you CAN indeed turn off RF by unsocketing the gem. If you resocket it before leaving the area, the spell will trigger again.
Just wanted to pop in and say thank you for this build. I honestly didn't know that Arcane Cloak or Archmage existed, so it's a very unique build for me.

I'm playing on PS5 and created a CoC raider and the desync was crazy, and because I relied on flasks and movement to live I couldn't make it through an Ultimatum. I re-geared for this build instead and now I'm not desyncing nearly as often, and I have enough eHP and damage mitigation to survive when I do.

Hopefully you mean Intensify and Increased AOE?

There's a spreadsheet floating around that shows the effectiveness, as I recall it's:

Awakened Increased Area of Effect > Intensify > Increased Area of Effect
