There's alot of moving parts to get tankiness up. Especially this league now more than ever when monsters are so ridiculously overtuned.

I'll start of saying that now, more than ever, dps is your most important layer of defense. Everytime I got stuck at a level, after getting some pretty big dps upgrades my minions suddenly start walking over all monsters and most random deaths were gone. So keep upgrading the build, especially the dps in the beginning. It really sounds like a meme, but kill before getting killed is probably the most consistent layer of defense right now.

I'm currently deep into farming mode right now and have totally given up on levels(92). I'm doing double Eldritch altar mods(Atlas Keystones) on all my maps increasing damage taken by like 300% in all maps aswell as popping Sentinels everytime so often dying multipile times. I'm also not upgrading anything right now, probably saving up for a Mageblood so my mapping is pretty rough.

Ashes of the Stars being 25ex really put a dent in the low budget plans for this league. And I'm feeling that the new Volatile Chaos Bombs are much worse than the old flame ones since 99% of all players have -60% chaos res.

But to get tankiness up, you need to check alot of boxes this league. For the normal build, these are the things:
1. Get dps up to atleast ~10 million
2. Get determination up.
3. Get Molten Shell Duration up to 10 sec or more. Automate Molten Shell
4. Get Frontline.
5. Basalt + Granite Flask, atleast once flask suffix with 50% increased armour or more.
6. Skin of the Lords for 100% increased armour (Bigger Molten Shells too)
7. Enduring Composure small cluster with +1 Endurance Charge.
8. Atleast 4k or more life.

If you got all this and still don't feel tanky enough, I suggest checking the Low budget tanky version and add block to the build. You lose alot dps but more than tripple your EHP. This is done by removing Necro Aegis, getting a life on block shield(x1 of each charge monkey for Charges) and capping block with Tempest Shield + Bone Offering, Rumis and some changes in the skilltree.

It also needs to be said that explodey AG will increase your clear like 10 fold, so might be a good idea to get it to decrease the chance of dying.

Another very boring tip to help prevent random deaths is not using the Sentinel league mechanic for now. It's very profitable, so for anyone who's looking to earn currency I suggest not stopping to use it. But it boost monster strength and tankiness so much that I've found that I almost always die when I don't use it. 70% of my deaths are when I press it I feel like. The other 30% are to Essences and Blights.

But who knows, GGG just rolled out a patch nerfing most Archnemesis mods so maybe it's better now?
Unfortunately, they didn't nerf the cold resist of Frostwalker and other mods like that so some monsters might still feel too tanky.

Hey just wondering you say you have 10 million dps but your day 3 POB only has carrion at like 700k. Is that accurate? Thanks!

Also I'm kindof lost as it where my next upgrade should be... apart from farming 30 ex for ashes.. Can you have a look? Ignore minion gem levels I'm going to upgrade those next but apart from that.. not quite sure. Thanks!

Deadandlivin day 3 POB is 5 million DPS summing all 4 minions (checking for Sirus DPS - regular DPS is 10 million) -> https://ibb.co/HKrHc31

Individually the upgrades will not give you a lot, expect the animated guardian, just go slowly building and equipping stuff and when you simulate your dps again in POB it'll be higher. The main problem of most builds is that sometimes you don't have many upgrades that will give you a billion DPS in one go, you gotta put together many pieces before it starts making difference. So to improve you just have to go and get stuff that you know it works, prioritizing life, resist cap, mandatory uniques etc.

@Deadandlivin: have you POBd amulets like +1 to Level of all Skill Gems or something as a "higher budget" alternative to ashes of the stars?

not sure if I'm bad at making currency or if this league is just fucked.

I'm at T15-16s (no bosses or anything) and I only just managed to get the gear for the white map POB.. time to work on the yellow one :S

You probably have way more currency than you imagine. People usually think chaos and exalted orbs are the only real currency of the game, whereas many things can be liquidated to make c/ex. Download and install an app called EXILANCE NEXT, set up a profile with your currency, fossils, blighted, essences, delirium, div cards tabs etc and it will point you to where you could start converting random shit into c/ex to get your upgrades faster.

I have it installed already.. just not sure how to do in practice.

Do it as bulk selling via making the specialized tabs public and do 3/7 chaos etc or dump it all in quad tabs with a fixed price that I lower daily/hourly etc?

I've tried a bit of both, but nothing seems to really work

Thanks for the tips! And the damage thing definitely make sense because in maps minion just walk over mobs so felt really good but moment got into map it takes a bit longer to kill is when things get rippy.

I guess I just have to farm some more whites and get upgrade before moving up. It just feels wrong because normally can easily steam roll through early yellow without as much fuss.

Just filter your stuff by individual price and sell whatever youre not gonna use

I have a 24c offering that I will NEVER EVER EVER EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER use that I can liquidate pretty fast for lab farmers. I could also sell ex cards for quick c, those blighted maps too etc.

yeah i myself got the animate guardian as outlined in one of the pobs and boy the difference is night and day. mapping feels great now and i can actually use the league mechanic lol
