You need Awakened Melee Splash and Fearsome force for clearspeed to feel good with melee minions.

Your survivability i slow because you have no investment into it either.
You want an Auls Uprising to make Hatred cost no mana so you can fit Grace.
You also want to get a Cluster setup so you can get the small Cluster "The Front Line".

If you get those things and automate Molten Shell with the numlock trick you will be quasi immortal.

How do you "automate Molten Shell" given the color/links in the gear for low-budget? Which of the armor set link setups are we to follow in the PoB, e.g.:

March boots = 2 different setups listed in pob
Gloves = 2 different setups listed in pob

? How does this fit with the low-budget crab version that you've updated to? I feel gimped after spending ~120c trying to make this build partially viable at "low budget", which now after you've updated is ~3ex? Should i just reroll?
BTW - Aul's with Hatred is MINIMUM 4EX.

with the new skills, as far as i understand it molton shell is way longer, but you still have 3-4 seconds cooldown in which you are way more vulnerable?

how long is your molton shell uptime?

My molten shell is 12 sec. CD is 3.33 sec

Mine only lasts for 6 seconds, what am i missing?
Plus i'm havin a bad time tryin to keep up with all these changes.
im willing to level some more as safe as possible and snipe some upgrade.
Im running explodey AG and 3 crabs+1 host chieftain.
Open to any suggestion and really loving the build (firt timer on minion).

This build is so confusing. The guide is a mess. I don't know what I'm doing. Spent ~120 chaos on the low budget version. But there are multiple low budget versions. Now I don't have the money to rainbow my sockets the right way, and the PoB is uber confusing on what color sockets are needed. It's not straightforward at all.

Where are the crabs at, too? I give up!

GGG nuked my build in the beginning of 3.16 so I had to quickly salvage what was left and try to push out playable builds in 3 days.

That left me very little time to get proper playtesting or rewriting the entire build guide. I'm sure there are more content creators that have had the same issues as I have.

I managed to push out decent builds for league release but they were far from what I wanted them to be.

As the league has progressed I've regulary been updating the build by adding new things I've found that makes the build stronger.
This has been an "on the fly" approach where I simply add things to where I'm currently at and write about it as a post and those who've been following the build can read about it too.

This has caused alot of PoBs et.c. to become unupdated. I've been trying to update them somewhat, but during this league I've been implementing at rapid successions several times every week so I gave up on updating every PoB and to rewrite the Scourge section with each update. It simply was too much work.

Instead, I'm gonna work on perfecting the build now and rewrite the entire guide for 3.17 and pray that GGG don't destroy my build again.

This is the latest PoB you should follow for low budget:

Everything else is outdated.

1. You automate molten shell with Numlock trick. Youtube it.
It's not a trick specific to PoE. you can use it in any game you play so you'll most likely encounter videos for it on Diablo3 where I first started using it.
Quick version: Bind Molten Shell to a numpad button (Numpad4 as an example)
Make sure numlock is on(If you have numlock on and press numpad4 in a chat messege you're supposed to start writing 4).
Hold down Numpad4 when numlock is on, press Num lock.
Your keyboard will now continously press Numpad4 keeping perfect uptime on Molten Sell.

2. 2 Different setups means you don't want the item to be 4-linked.
You want to run x2 2 links in both your boots and gloves.
The reason is because in your boots you don't want to support Purity of Elemens and Determination with Generosity. It would make those Auras not affect you.

In your gloves you don't want to support Phase Run or Grace with Second Wind. It only increases the mana cost of those skills without giving you anything in return.

The ring runs either Convocation or Enduring cry. You're free to choose what you want here. Enduring Cry if you want 4 Endurance Charges or Convocation if ou want to be able to position your minions.

3. If all you got is 120 chaos then I suggest getting items at a slower phase.

Simply skip out on the most expensive items that aren't needed to make the low budget version work. This means, skip the 1 ex medium cluster and cost is already down to 2 ex. Skip the gems that alone are 1 ex and you can get everything else for your budget.

Most important items to make the build work is:
1. 4G Triad (20 chaos)
2. March of the Legion Boots (4 chaos)
3. Large Minion Cluster with Renewal and Feasting Fiends (9-10 passives) (20 chaos)
4. The Front Line small cluster (2 chaos)
5. Skin of the Lords with 3blue, 2red and 1green color
No keystone that bricks the build. (40 chaos)
6. Primordial Jewels (30 chaos)
7. Cheap Minion Helm (~50 chaos)
8. Victario's and Clayshaper (2 chaos)
9. Small Cluster with Sublime Form (10 chaos for Base, roll Sublime Form yourself with Alterations)

If you have all this everything should be fine.
Other item slots is just to get Attributes and Resistances.
Purity of Elements helps alot with this so you can even get Chaos Res or Life Regen if you want to like I have.

Since you don't have enough money to eve get all of this I would skip out on the 50 chaos helmet. Instead, run a SUPER cheap minion helm like this:
Spoiler

If you get these essentials the build should be more than playable and you should be able to farm up enough to the 3 ex budget version of the build.

At that point it's strong enough to farm The Feared and Simulacrums:
The Feared on Low Budget
Simulacrum on Lowbudget

I don't recommend Aul in any of my low budget guides.

This is when running my new low budget build:
https://pastebin.com/mbZA7ViA

It scales alot of Duration due to March of the Legion and The Last Front small cluster. I'm Running both Dynamo and Potency of Will with 10% more duration mastery for increased duration.

My Molten Shell is now 9.5 sec though since I decided to remove Increased Duration support from it.
I instead run Arcanist Brand for a cheap trigger.

Selfcasting both Flesh Offering and Frostbite was getting too spammy with March of the Legion. So I just use Arcanist Brand to trigger those things instead. Feels way better and the uptime loss on Molten Shell isn't noticeable.

Glad you're enjoying the build. I'm sorry it's confusing keeping up with all the changes. I will make a much more robust and consistent guide for 3.17.
3.16 was mainly experimental trying to salvage what was left from 3.15.
is there a chance to keep my 3r 2b 1g EE chest even for endgame build?
Can't find a proper one
why actually EE ?
we only do cold damage, shouldnt the boss have 50% more resis against it?
