Another question I have is to do with the fortify mastery, which gives us fortify on hit but reduce our max to 17.
The notable next to it says we have to have 20 stacks to get the damage bonus.
Guess we are taking the notable for the 100% fortify increase only?

According to Patch Notes:
Dread Banner now grants +10 to maximum Fortification for 0.05 seconds per Stage when placed. It no longer grants 1% increased Fortify Effect per Stage.

So you can exceed the 20 for a bit.

but i cant see how malevolance helps the build offencivly
more aoe? (meh)
dot? (majority come from instant dmg)
skill effect???? (i only find it usefull if there is vaal reave so you can sustain the aoe buff)

I think, it will be better to take fortify instead of close combat
Then, take another bonus, so +40% will be reached
Or I have missed something here?

tempest shield and purity of elements are changed in the patch tempest shield will now reserve 25% mana and purity of elements will reserve 50% mana.Since the gems are not updated in PoB yet. he put 2 random auras there with the right amount of mana reservation to see if they will fit.

You should really read through the entire guide. In the leveling section you'll find a separate thread that KMQ maintains that explains how to level as a duelist (for any build with a slight bias towards this one)
