Great guide, very fun playstyle for me, but I had my doubts about dropping the tawhoa node, I know in pob is lower damage compared with other nodes but I had false dps info with weird mechanics before in pob, so my theory is that yes the exerted damage doesn't count but everything else does and did a live test with my 89 chieftain, removed elemental overload, the 100 extra fire every 4 seconds and went to lab and tested the 3 nodes with a white two handed mace (lowest crit) and consistently killed izaro faster with tawhoa compared with fire pen node or the totem node (only used a lvl 19 aw totem).
My recommendation is do your own testing maybe I did something wrong, but in my testing noncrit (you can check my character, the only chieftain in my profile) with crit would be even more damage sice or base damage is higher.
Thanks so much for testing, we need more spirit like this!
As far as I know, currently there are 2 things GGG has confirmed:
1. tawhoa's chosen will not benefit from fist of war support
2. tawhoa's chosen will not benefit from exerted attack effect
Let's say these 2 are the only drawbacks of Tawhoa's Chosen, then we can estimate its damage upper limit easily in POB by :first disable siesmic and intimidating cry, then disable fist of war, at last, add 50% more damage in gear. After all this, it adds around 10% of our current max damage, not as good as other nodes.
Now the number is only upper limit. what is still unknown is: whether the mirage warrior will inherit our character's critical strike chance and its crit multiplier, if it does not, then the damage will reduce significantly further.
I tried to test Tawhoa's chosen's damage in game but did not find a good way to eliminate my own damage. After all, the mirage warrior only attacks when you attack :)
If you have good way of testing this, please let me know. I really want to make Towhoa's Chosen work because having a mirage slamming together will you is so cool to see :)
No problem, from what I understand from the ggg post it works exactly as a mirage from the sirus sword, so it inherits your damage (crit and crit multi included) also inherits all the debuffs to monsters and your penetration.
The only way that I can think to test this is in izaro and try to not insta phase it (less links, worse weapon etc) and count how many hits you need to change the phase.
Remove the 100% extra damage from the chieftain and everything that is a part time buff
Izaro is great for testing it doesn't have map modifiers has good hp so you count until phase yo can do that in a white (very important) higher tier map with only one boss if you have to much damage (atoll, jungle valley, any big hp non phasing boss works too now that I think about it)
From my testing if I remember correctly it took 3 hits with the totem and 4 hits with the fire pen one.
With tawhoa was only one hit so I don't know what hell is going on with tawhoa maybe is benefiting from certain aspects of the warcry's or ggg is wrong and it works completely.
So my conclusion if it is better with non crit it would be great with crit
i've put phase run on my left mouse button. that seems to work pretty well except for the really annoying "i can't do that now" messages.
i was wondering if there's a better location for phase run ?
also, i'm still running with a 350dps, yes 350, weapon, but a funny thing just happened. i went to meet cells boss, slammed the mob in front of me once, moved forward and boss was ded. lol
really having fun with this build. can't wait to upgrade my weapon.

Why u linked seismic cry to combustion, totem and golem?
maybe it would be better to use herald of purity there, because they can inflict combustion
But then purity will reserve more mana because of the support gem.
Seismic cry does not need to be linked anywhere.

I put phase run on the middle mouse button between left and right click.
It's pretty convenient this way.
I use the second skill bar for summoning golem, (I use ctrl + q), since we use stone golem, it does not die often, so it's fine.

Came here after doing EQ bleed on heist.. can't seem to get this one past 84ish pretty rough, also built around the "Tawhoa's Chosen" before the change of heart on the 17th..

Thanks for the tips on testing, I will follow your test instructions and test its damage when I finish updating the build guide.
If you get some chance to test the Towhoa's Chosen too please share the finding with us :)
