[3.25] One shot Tectonic Slam Chieftain. Great Damage and Survivability. Melting all content.

This build is physically painful to play. Low running speed, long attack animation, low survivability, 50kk mythical dps in the pob, and at the same time very expensive. It's hard to imagine how they can play in the modern realities, especially in battles with maven and her final tests.
I'm not saying this build is bad, but it's definitely not for everyone and not for everything.

I want to comment on everything that you wrote to me, so:

1.My chance of hitting is 93% on dexterous enemies-88 and I have normal effective damage, I can see that enemies are receiving damage and that I hit, but this is not enough! DAMAGE SIMPLY NO! And you know why I can not afford a good weapon with a high critical hit chance and high dps and of course craft for 100% accuracy, I just can't close anything, I DIE ANYWHERE, WHERE I CAN ONLY RAISE AT LEAST A LITTLE CURRENCY !!!

2. I did as you described, namely, I bought the mentor, gave up the burning anger in favor of summoning mechbots and pumped the remaining points into damage, critical strike chance and health, unless I changed the amulet, because there is no currency! I found out that the damage became less, I also abandoned the molten armor and steel skin in favor of a golem that dies in 2 seconds on the T-16 map and does not perform its function, namely, to set it on fire. This did not increase survival, I still DIE EVERYWHERE !

3 "Life flasks are not needed" - ARE YOU SERIOUS ?! Give up the life flask and rely only on the cry of fortitude, no comment! As long as I use the skill with a cooldown time, I WILL DIE!

In general, I read the manual from start to finish and followed it, but the expected did not come true in reality and even more ...

When upgrading the build, many of the choices we made in gears/trees/skills are dependent on one another.

For example, we use hits can't be evaded craft to replace resolute technique, we use brine king pantheon as alternative to unwavering stance. Use freeze immunity mod in flask to replace hrimnor's resolve... The list goes on and on.

Failing to understand the dependency will simply make your character unplayable, for example, deallocating resolute technique without 100% hit chance will not work, using mid-budget skilltree with budget gear won't work either.

That's why it's important to follow the POB and read guide to upgrade properly, in fact, I explained "transition to crit-gear" in detail in Q&A. Simply read it through, then the mistakes could've been avoided.

In a situation like this, you are stuck at a vicious cycle:
fail to upgrade -> no damage/survivability -> can't farm currency -> fail to upgrade

I recommend reroll back to 2ex setup (which can clear t16 maps without problems) and farm currency to get essential item first, then make the upgrade smoothly.

Any tip for mana sustain in SSF when I can't get cinderswallow urn? Just have thrill seeker permanently allocated? That means I can't easily change the passive tree later, though. Maybe -8 mana cost ring and 50% increased mana regen from jewellery would be enough?

Hi, I used the 40% mana regen for mana sustain amulet even before the getting the cinderswallow with 80 unreserved mana and it worked for me.

Also, the mod "gain mana on kill" cal also help.

Hi,
Ment to post here for a few days now, but after switching to crit yesterday I just had to give big thumbs up for the guide. Nice to see that your playing it yourself and also updating the guide as you go, has helped a lot. So, switched to crit yesterday and it brought the fun back in to this build. Non-crit was getting dull at this level and eventho I´m not 1-shotting some of the bosses, I still 2 or 3 hit most of them, even conquerors and I still have plenty of optimisation to do with my gear and tree/jewels.

Oh, and the mana is a bit problem here also, altho I dont have enlighten lvl 3 yet. Also thinking of getting stun-immunity back, as I feel that interruptions are sewerely breaking the flow of the build.

So, thank you for the guide and build.

Hi, usually the 40% mana regen craft should work by itself. Make sure you have the Tireless node in skilltree.

In end-game, we will craft stun avoidance in gear and use cinderswallow's craft for stun immunity.

Hi mate, i understand you are frustrated, and while we are playing game that allows you to play literally any build you want in any way there still ways to play it better.

1. You have smite the weak on cluster (0 dps 0 survaival) also you have 2 devastator (one of them is useless because thay don't add up to each other) and on both of you cluster jewels you have only 2 passive skill you can easy obtain one for around 15c (without devastator)

2. You bought elder version of astral plate, but you need hunter one for extra curse

3. Also you can get helm with 40%inc tectomic dmg for cheap end fossil craft -9% fire res on it

4. And in my opinion 2 ex version (around 13-14 mil max dmg) simply suffice to clear most of the content for now. Mind that i'm not yet at the point in league where fighting sirus, cortex, uber elder etc, but with my current gear (overall cost less then 150 chaos for all items, jewels and flask) i can pretty much one shot t16 boss if lined up cry, totem and flask perfectly. So if you want all you need to do is respec a little from crit build to non-crit version, after that you can farm currency to progress further or for another build if you still wish to swap

Hi, thanks for helping others! Just want to point out that having two devastator does work - their chances stacks.

If you have the correct setup, your running speed is at 111% with flasks on during mapping even with 30c gear, and 146% for 2ex gear. However, if not following properly, then it can be painful and I totally understand.

Same thing goes for survivability and damage, you can actually go to POB calculation tab to see where the damage come from, once you understand you will know it's not mythical at all.

One thing I agree is this build isn't for everyone, because it does require some good understanding of gears and mechanisms to play it right.

Just beat Sirus A8 deathless for the first time and as a reward he dropped a 13ex awakened support. Now I can fund mid budget version!

Just picked up this staff for 3ex - do I just need to remove crafted mods and add Hits Can't be Evaded and it's good? Sorry, new to crafting anything really.

I'm constantly amazed at the number of people in this thread with literally 10x my budget who are having trouble.

I SUCK at this game. I HATE PoB, i can never get it to give the "correct" damage. I absolutely hate it, but in this game you have no choice but to use it (which is a whole other discussion). It's a great example of how people who are brilliant at software are not very good at UI design.

And yet, im sitting here with 60C of gear in t12 maps and i die only when i'm stupid.

This build absolutely requires a very patient style of play.

The two sticking points I had as i transitioned into maps and then into yellow+ maps:

not patient. i attacked as fast as i could all the time. as soon as i understood the interaction between the war cries and Fist of war i started 1-shotting everything. Yet, even now i get "whiffs", and my first attack doesn't do much and then the 2nd attack will 1-shot. I still haven't quite figured it out.

As Jenno pointed out previously, initiating the attack and then moving interrupts the attack. I have a very strong suspicion that this is a serious trap for a lot of people. I solved that problem by enabling the always-attack-in-place flag on tec slam. but still occasionally my first slam seems to do really terrible damage.

as i was working through maps i was running out of mana. this was a very strange sticking point. you think it would have been obvious but it wasn't to me (I suck at this game, remember ?). I was literally in rituals attacking with standard attack, LOL.
I solved the problem, with two skill points (mana flowS) and putting mana regen on a ring.

Not the best way to solve it but i'm cheap and don't want to spend currency and annoint my lame ammy.

So i'm just confirming, from my point of view this build can be tricky to make work until you get the hang of it. Unfortunately you may not get the hang of it. If you can't, don't be mad at Jenno, try another build.

Also, experiment in game play. Go into a T1 map where you can't be killed and take your time. Watch the status, the cooldown's, the animations, etc... This is what i did and it helped considerably.

edit: no ranting without offering to help. if any of you are having trouble feel free to contact me in-game and i'll do my best to help. i'm not Jenno, lol, but i think i have this build mostly figured out so maybe i can help you.

edit2: i don't mean try another build in a negative sense. i mean you should try another build and see if you find something you like better. i LOVE playing trappers. i understand how to play them, and yet i've never been able to get a trapper past t13/t14 (which means i don't really understand how to play them?). the evasion/dodge thing just makes them too prone to 1-shots. so now i play tanky builds...

How do you tell if you are actually buying a hunter armor ?

I'm about to put down my hard earned (very hard earned) currency for a hunter influenced chest, only there doesn't seem to be any way to tell that it has that influence unlike shaper or elder.

when somebody puts the armor in the trade window how will i know i'm not being scammed ? how will i know it's hunter influenced and not some different influence ?

finally , in the league as it now stands is it better to go with 3-resonator or 4-resonator method ? as far as i can tell 4-resonator is probably cheaper, unless it takes longer than average in which case you'll be out a lot more currency.

Thanks.
