[3.11] Cold BV PF Indigon ft. RF | All content done in HC! | Fast mapper, safe boss-killer

I went through and took a look at all the relevant alt qualities I could find.

Molten Shell: Buff can take additional Damage equal to 5% of your Armour

This basically precludes using Vaal Molten Shell without a decent amount of investment(Have to vaal 20% alt quality gems) and the baseline quality is already pretty good so I don't really know if this is better.

Blade Vortex: 0.4% of damage leeched as life.

I don't really like this one since it realistically precludes the possibility of having a lv21 Vaal BV and Doryani's Lesson is fairly trivial to get.

Hatred: You and nearby Allies have 20% increased Chill and Freeze Duration

Normal quality does nothing so this is objectively an upgrade.

Hypothermia: Enemies Frozen by Supported Skills have -4% to Cold Resistance

Normal quality is pretty weak so I imagine this is just a straight upgrade since you'll freeze bosses a non-insignificant amount of time.

Bonechill: Supported Skills have 10% increased Effect of Chill on Enemies

Normal quality is worthless since it supports Vortex. This is just a straight upgrade for a whopping 54% chill effect at 20/20.

Controlled Destruction: Supported Skills have 10% chance for Damage with Hits to be Lucky

I'll be honest I have no idea if this is good or not. It's not supported on PoB at the moment so it's hard to say if it beats 5% more damage on the Awakened version.(Maybe someone else who knows how to do the math on Lucky damage can share?)

Purifying Flame: Consecrated Ground applies 5% increased Damage taken to Enemies

This is pretty massive damage considering the investment here. Can buy one of these for peanuts at the moment. This alone makes up a lot of what was lost with Harvest.

Fortify: Supported Skills have 4% increased Fortify Effect

About as free as you can get. Normal quality does nothing so this is a free 0.8% less damage taken(Does damage taken even work in non-integers?)

Frostbite: Hits against Cursed Enemies have +20% chance to Freeze

This one I'm not sure if it's a gain or not since I'm not 100% sure how freeze mechanics work. It's against 20% freeze duration on normal quality.

Arcane Surge: +0.2% of mana regenerated by while you have Arcane Surge

Another straight gain since the baseline quality does nothing.

Frost Bomb: 20% increased area of effect

See above.

Added Cold Damage Support: 20% of physical damage converted to cold damage

Same as frostbite. Not sure if this is useful in any way but it's interesting.

Vortex: 20% less Skill Effect Duration 20% increased Cooldown Recovery Rate

Arguably a straight upgrade versus the normal quality of 10% increased area of effect. Faster cooldown means more casts which helps with keeping indigon stacks up. The skill effect duration loss doesn't matter since it's cast on cd anyway.

Righteous Fire: Buff Grants 20% increased Spell Damage

Another objective upgrade versus the normal quality but using this might make using Vaal Righteous Fire prohibitively expensive since you'll need to vaal 20% alt quality

So I've been farming for the gears for this build since the start of the league.
Managed to fully switch to it after I got Indigon.

Gears are pretty average (the rares). Currently on a 5L, so far maps have been smooth. I went with the shield for the shield charge and free fortify during mapping.

Im focusing on getting better rares, a 6L chest and maybe finish the weapon.
Im using Sigil of Power for tough bosses to ramp Indigon faster.

Looking nice! How does 5L feel in mapping? Where are you on atlas progression?

I'm still waiting for prices to go down, before making the switch. (Like Indigon is so expensive right now, it's nuts)
Sigil of Power is actually just nuts in general for any indigon build. After I'm ramped about 20-25% of my tooltip damage is lightning(I have no lightning without atm) on top of the damage reduction. It's also massive with intensify+inc aoe.

@sirdond so far clearing maps on 5L is fine since the explo chest kinda carries the clear. For bossing, fornow its kinda slow since Im on a 5L
My Toxic Rain league starter is going well and I've saved a bit currency(20 EX and even more if I would sell my TR gear) to switch to this build. I wont be switching instantly but I want to buy pieces while enjoying some heists :D So I have few questions:

-For starter, is 20 EX enough for viable end game gear?
-If I wanted to craft explodey chest, what would be the best way to do it? Awakener Orb + Explode mode or Crusader Orb and alteration? And which base should I aim for? Do we get enough STR for astral plate? And since its not harvest anymore, would colours be cancer?
-Which pieces should I get first? Maybe a from Expensive to cheap?

Imo if you wanna use Astral plate, your best bet is to get a 6w 6L astral plate ilvl85 i suppose otherwise off coloring without harvest on an armor base is hell.

I guess the very first piece you want to get is Indigon since it enables your damage pretty highly then the explo chest for the clear
Just wanted to give my thoughts on the build so far and my progress to it. So I leaguestarted as Scourge Arrow PF. After no-lifing maps and Heist for 5 days, I built up enough currency to switch over. Had a lot of luck involved including a Brother's Stash and a Doctor card dropping (both from Heist).

Loving the build so far. Guys like Sirus 8 are down deathless. Permanent RF up (with mana flask up permanently) feels really nice. Mapping is a breeze, equivalent to autobomber levels but maybe slightly below. I helped a friend with his Sirus 5 and I was also able to tank his "DIE" beam with all flasks up. Heists so far are no problem at all and I just randomly alch and go.

After testing things out, I decided to remove Vigilant Strike and Shield Charge since both feel clunky. On softcore so I don't really require Fortify. I'm more of a fan of Dash with Second Wind support, and I feel it performs really well in Heists when you need that super quick double dash when escaping. Just my preference.

Excellent build so far and I'm probably going to finish this league with this character and steadily improve my gear. For week 1 of the league, I'm very happy where I am.

Im really interested in this build.

I have explody chest already and money enough for the helmet.

Whats bare minimum to get it running for red tier.
A little update, got myself a new chest

Luckily the chest had some open prefix/suffix so I crafted Life and fully swapped to shield + weapon. Next upgrades would be getting alt gems and finishing the weapon im wearing or craft a better one.

For week 1, Im pretty happy with the gears I currently have especially now that Harvest crafting is gone which makes the chest harder to get.
