[3.21] Aegis Incinerate Elementalist - Tank with over 10mil Shaper DPS!
I don't think the shield drop rate has been nerfed. There are plenty on sale.
The price has skyrocketed because it has become popular. When we first started using it with this build, no one used it. I think it was under .1% of all builds on POE ninja used it many leagues ago. It is sitting now at a very healthy 11% and is one of the most widely used items on poe.ninja across all builds. |

I am in act 10 now and things feel really good with this build (especially compared to my league starter which was a disaster, definitely not the league to try a glass cannon :)). I have not died since some time in act 6.
I should easily start mapping tonight. The Aegis shield will be a LONG way off but things feel fairly good with a high block shield right now. Inquisitor has so much built in ES recovery that it helps offset, a bit, the loss of ES recovery on the Aegis. I will probably target Thread of Hope as the first expensive item just so I can get a handle on my resists for mapping. I think a 5 link will get me to hopefully yellow maps and then just keep grinding one item at a time. |

" Last league the item was popular as well but prices were around 100-150C, something else is going on. Player retention seems bad (seen numbers like 90K) so maybe that's it Last edited by Chubbypuppy on May 18, 2022, 10:59:24 PM

Aegis is obnoxiously expensive because melding of the flesh is popular now, and it wasn't discovered immediately last league. The +5% max cold res is used with purity of ice to get 90% all res.
What's everyone using for shields right now? I'm in yellow maps with a random life and 30% block spirit shield but I know this won't fly in reds and I'm a bit worried. |
|
" Aegis basically allows for infinite and instant ES recovery, even without melding, which this build doesn't use (if I recall) since we use too many uniques to be able to cover the resistances. |
|
" No we don't, it's just a big reason it's become so popular. The league being super rippy doesn't help lol |

My memory sucks and some one asked me in game and I can't remember.
Does anyone remember why ES sustain is more difficult than life sustain with the Inquisitor build when we use Righteous Fire? ES and Life regen are identical due to Pious Path. |
|
" Is your life pool bigger then your ES pool? Because if ES pool is bigger, life regen will not be enough (since scaled of the life pool) | |
" Life pool is bigger. This happened last league when we first theory crafted this with RF. It was always easy to sustain life but for sustaining ES we had to crank up max fire res quite a bit. Someone explained why in the thread last league but I can't find it. I tried digging through POB but I can't find what I am looking for in the calcs window. This was the answer I got on reddit but I am not sure I understand.
======= RF is not chaos damage, so all the degen goes to ES before it goes to life. So when you're just sustaining life, it means that the RF degen is already consuming all of your ES regen as well. |
