I must have been doing something wrong, there seemed no way I was getting any chromatic orbs dropping.

I assume that was a typo and you meant chaos orbs? Try the Harbour Bridge in Act 8 before they nerf it. Don't stop for picking up loot while you run from one end to the other, just finish the delirium all the way and pick up stuff on your way back. Then refresh the instance (Strg+click to open a new instance), rinse and repeat.

If you really need more chromatic orbs, pick up every item with three linked colors and vendor them for one chromatic each. I recommend to use a loot filter like this one https://github.com/NeverSinkDev/NeverSink-Filter/releases. Helps greatly with never missing good currency and is adjustable.

I guess I'll start farming the rare recipe (I always identified the jewellery because mine was bad - and those item types don't seem to drop very often - so I gues I need to stop identifying stuff). Is there a way to get more rare rings/amulets to drop?

Yeah, jewellery is the bottleneck of the recipe. It will come in time. Deliriums often drop jewellery and there's jewellery nodes in the delve.

You can always use an orb of scouring on a piece of jewellery (or any item) if you don't like the stats and re-craft it with either essences or fossils or just make a blue item first and reroll with orbs of alteration until you got something you like, maybe use an augment if possible, then make it rare with a regal orb and add another mod at the crafting bench. Personally I didn't get the hang of fossil crafting myself yet.
Oh, and do run Jun's missions in low tier maps, because you find more recipes for the crafting bench from unveiling items with her. I struggled a lot with my chaos resistance before I got it from Jun (you have to unveil the same suffix several times until it becomes available at the crafting bench).

Good luck and don't hesitate with further questions.

They already nerfed it a few days ago, but it still should be viable early on.

Rats.
I didn't see that in any patch notes, or did they just do it on the quiet and people started noticing the drops are not as good?

Where's best now then at my stage of the game? I managed to get through the blue map reward fro finishing the story (from the guy who stands by the map device in the hideout). So should I do maps or save those for when I'm stronger?

@Elocara - thanks again and yes, it was a typo I did mean chaos not chromatic.
I'm already using NeverSink's filter and it seems pretty good, I never tried customising it though (I'd need to be aware of a reason to change it and I've not found one as yet). I think there's a loot filter included in the guide but I'm not clear on any differences from NeverSink's so I've not tried it yet - if it ain't broke etc.

It's in the 3.10.1 patch notes:

"Adjusted the reward count pacing in story areas to behave similarly to that of Map areas. This does mean that some areas (such as Harbour Bridge) will no longer be overly rewarding."

You should do the maps right away. Better loot, better drops and more varied items and it's not that hard the first several tiers. You should be fine even with resistances below 0.

I got a

This is great for us right?

This is awesome but I feel I'm kinda slow killing stuff in delirium. I only get to max 4-2 items.

Yes. You can usually cast it every 2-3 groups of monsters (depending on the clear speed and monster density)

But the best example is Legion encounters. I always do it like this: cast Vaal skeletons, pop the monolith and then cast Vaal arc. The whole screen lights up. You break the legion enemies and once they become alive - you have your Vaal Arc back and you can cast it once again on the moving enemies. This way I can pop more enemies and kill them more quickly when they start to attack.

So in other words - you can basically cast Vaal Arc every 12-15 seconds, more or less.

Vaal arc is EXTREMELY good in temporal incursions. You go through Alva's portal, run to the architect, pop vaal skeletons and vaal arc, kill everything much more quickly and you will always have the time to fully clear it and unlock the doors you want.
Awesome. Thanks M_atrix! Great response. Have you noticed if either Arc is doing enough damage to shock the enemy?

Just wanted to say this build has been good,on console especially^^. Though I did "tweak" it a little. Skeletons, carrion golem for the main damage-both with feeding frenzy and triad grip used as well. End result-shield charging skeletons, that cut down everything XD

I know life is my Achilles Heel right now but it was either life or resists, so I decided for resists.

But I adapted my play style a bit and it's going a lot better now. I also acquired my bone armour today, merciless lab was a lot easier than I thought due to amazing minion damage on Izaro. So I'm back on track now!
Awesome Elocara!

I'm glad it's going smoothly now! Good for you! Ya, the gear choices are tough. They keep coming too :). Good job ascending! Bone Armour is huge!

Hey all, so old Dwaine the necro kept dying and I said "well you could use shield charge with added lightning and support it with fortify..." yeah, he doesn't die anymore either!
This league is rough, you gotta be moving, they ARE out to get you!
Approaching 300 splinters and may hit 92 BEFORE I try the simulacrum!
Good to see issues are getting sorted out. Life/Resists is hard, but resists give you more life than life gives resists so it's best to cap resists first.
Then play around in easy to mod tier 1-5 maps and good things will come.
DO YOUR MASTER MISSIONS!
Zana, look for the "Complete the lab trial", get that final ascendancy!
If you have too (I DID) ask on trade chat for lab trials, took me 30 min and the guy didn't even want a tip :)
Don't forget Zana is the only path to certain maps, and it's a free double map just for clicking her mission! Buy zana maps, always check her, they refresh after you run her mission. If you don't know who zana is, she comes after Kirac, I think you need to get to T3 maps, so buy maps from Kirac for a bit and you'll run into her eventually.
ALWAYS head to the delve at about 85% of level.
NIKO loves to level characters! ALWAYS path to Azurite, there will come a time when it isn't needed, but always start with that. Secret rooms suck before level 80, don't worry about them unless they are obvious.
Do all of your Jun missions on T1 maps, the level does not determine the unlocks! Spoiler: It's EZ on T1!
Beasts are easy with a bunch of minions, nuf said.
An Alva trick, run a super amped (as high tier map) as you can run first.
TRY to kill the boss you want without dying. Don't worry about the door, bonus if you can get one!
Then you are free to complete the temple at lower tiered maps because the temple will open at the highest level you completed.
Trade is a mess right now, but keep checking, there are people like me who WILL leave a map for 2 chaos :)
Just give us a minute or 2 because we are probably delirious!
Good luck!
I will wear your ghost and you will die twice, against me and for me.
That is some cold blooded shit to say...
