Cold ANIMATE WEAPON Summoner | League-Start & Leveling Guide
" It is still 14 minions, possibly even one or two more if it scales well with +level. So when using a CwC setup it would still take roughly 5 seconds with an unending suply of weapons on the ground to cycle through them. 6 seconnd if you dont level CwC. Its just, do you really want to give up two ~1,45 more damage supports to automate summoning for a minion that stays 60 seconds? Technically you only need to summon a new one every ~4 seconds to have them maxed out. With automated builds it probably is better to go the chains of commands route where the automation is build into already. For QoL you could also just use unleash support. This way every time you cast you gain 4 minions, reducing the need to resummon them to 4 times every 60 secons. This way you only loose one support slot.
Here is the version close to what I am thinking of doing.
https://pastebin.com/6MUmbnC6 I have seen many impale versions of the build go into the marauder area and I like it for the increased phys reduction. If you do something like this you can get around 180% life on tree, max block and spell block and stop around level 80. Then 14 points to level 94 gives you 3 notables in expansion jewels at least. I've never used cold iron point but it looks very interesting even if you don't go necro. I guess it depends on what dmg past gem level 20 is. Probably I would still use a convoking wand for quality of life.
We survived lmao, on a real note the patch notes really didn't seem like too big an issue for this build.

So with the "physical" tag now. Do they gain damage from your own +physical damage to spells or even just flat phys %? I'd assume not. But none of the Other minion spells have this tag so...maybe? :o

" Yeah the cold iron point looks like a viable endgame weapon for phys based animate weapon builds. Just dont with it plan to early at league start, last league it was quite expensive early on. Increased in prices even later on instead of dropping down to a chaos or so. Poison Blade Vortex (popular league starter) and herald builds used them, prices were upwards of 50c regularly. Not expensive expensive but also not a auto include cheap uniq. So far it seems like AW gets one more weapon per two gem levels and 4% more dmg + a bit flat dmg per level. So roughly 10% more dps when additional minions are included per level I guess, similar to spells.
It wont be the end game weapon, first because it cant trigger stuff, second because a wand with +2lvl, minion damage and minion attack speed will be far superior.
I believe that +1 level with increased and as will still be better, actually. Last edited by Keyen on Mar 11, 2020, 5:40:42 AM

" It really only matters for items which say "+X level of physical spell gems", otherwise no difference. " Hopefully you catch this issue quickly, but Hatred and Cold Iron Point is going to be a nonbo for you. Anyway, I'm going to place a firm opinion here that impale and physical versions of the build are going to be worse, and start to really suffer on entering red maps when enemies have reasonable armor ratings. The ONLY reason to go physical rather than elemental is if you want to do the build with Champion ascendancy and are consciously making a tradeoff of higher defenses for lower DPS. |
|
" You are heavily overestimating the impact of armor on damage. The damage reduction is way too low even with like 100k armor, and it can be completely negated with supports. The champion ascendancy has also zero synergy with physical minions which he doesn't have with elemental minions. Finally, the scaling of the cold build and the physical build is around the same, with physical having an easier time around sockets.

" Wouldn't the deal no elemental damage only matter for damage applied by your own character not minions? I understand it would still be problematic because applying elemental equilibrium would be complicated or no longer possible. But yeah I was aware it would cause problems, just not exactly which problems :P |
