Cold ANIMATE WEAPON Summoner | League-Start & Leveling Guide
" These are the only necro changes: 1) Bone Barrier no longer grants Elemental Resistances per minion. Increased Life and Energy Shield Recovery per minion is now 2% (from 3%), capping out at 20% (from 30%). 2) Commander of Darkness now grants you and nearby allies +30% to all Elemental Resistances (from 20%). This build does not use Bone Barrier so that nerf does not effect the build. Commander of Darkeness is a buff for the build. So overall, the patch notes actually helped this build for Necro in terms of the ascendancy nodes. |

" Yea that's how I imagine it'll go. Not sure if he plans to toss a movement skill in somewhere or just use quicksilvers and run real fast. Should be rather straight forward tho And yea build only got better with the notes for necro lol. Tho only slightly. Weapon changes seem complicated with dropping from 50 to 14 but big buffs to the damage from each animated weapon Last edited by Xdoctor on Mar 10, 2020, 10:17:43 PM

" Thanks! Yeah, the buffs look really good. They look so strong it almost makes you wonder if we should give more love to a golem and/or specter with more support gems. The blades also stay up longer as well. I am really interested to see how this works. |

Animate Weapons also has a physical tag now. So it should be affected by Cold Iron Point. Not sure how much this would actually benefit the skill compared to a good Minion wand, but it's something to keep in mind.

Are these changes correct for the updated AW?
AW Changes Cobalt Jewel Crafted: true Prefix: None Prefix: None Suffix: None Suffix: None Quality: 0 Implicits: 0 Minions deal 48% more damage // Flat phys changes Minions deal 88 to 128 additional physical damage // Attack speed changes Minions have 48% reduced attack speed Minions have 48% more attack speed
" The skill just got a huge damage effectiveness nerf. The base added damage is good, however. We don't have the figures for the second part of added damage (the one from animating bladefall weapons), so maybe it's not that bad.

This is a very simplified spreadsheet comparing the dps of old AW and new AW, assuming glass shank as weapons and not even factoring in the as changes, which will further buff raw dmg on new AW, Disclaimer: the better the weapon base dmg, the better old AW gets. However it was previously stated that AW from blade skills were glass shanks, so with the new change, apart from particular bossing scenarios, it will be very unlikely that we use another weapon type.
"Given that you don't take in account the 152% more damage the old AW was supposed to have... Your I4 cell should be "=E4*H4*2.52" to be representative of what AW was supposed to be. Last edited by Keyen on Mar 11, 2020, 1:10:34 AM

" I may be misunderstanding you, but the only time we will be animating Glass Shanks is in the beginning of the zone and the boss fight. We will otherwise be animating weapons that drop from monsters. Just a heads up for everyone, don't forget to make an animate weapon loot filter. |
