EA 3.9 Ignite -- Cap Your Damage
" I dont know if I can get the chaos res so positive, that would require really well roled gear. So I think I will aim for life and dmg, since my res are all cap. |

Could you please take a look at my char? Though I have roughly 5k life, I feel that it is still squishy as I need to stand still to stack fuses, and sometimes I feel that I have no clearspeed, especially when it comes to legion or blight (yellow and early red maps, not t15-16). Also, mana is an issue so I feel more comfortable with an enduring mana flask, which is one less defense/offense flask. Coming from a split arrow sabo which can clear red maps with ease, I feel frustrated. How should I improve?

" A lot of the changes you've made to break away from this guide indicate you still don't know how the skill works. I would recommend first fixing your tree to be in stricter adherence with the guide first. For items, replace the skirmish for clear setup. Quality belt. Life rolls on gear. I don't think you have anywhere close to the gear required to emulate maydie's dodge variant. It sounds like you've compromised so many aspects of durability here that you are not capable of standing at a range which is required for single target damage to be acceptable. How important is Flammability in the cast on focus setup if I have a curse on hit ring?
In the process of re-levelling gems after flipping for quality, trying to do it in reds with a low level EA was a bit of an oof. Should probably just buy a 21/20 and spare myself the headache. Clear still feels a little awkward. I tried to run a pure breachstone before flipping gems and bricked it hard. Life total feels decent now at 7k but I've still got a bunch of upgrades to make, jewelry and jewels in particular, before I give Sirus a try. Maybe 3 more levels too for another jewel socket. |

Hi, I've been looking into Explosive Arrow as my next char, as the skill has always been one of my favorites but after it got dumpstered by the double dipping changes I've been averse to making another character with the skill.
Now with the substantial buffs to Ignite over the last few patches and most importantly the EA rework this league I'm keen to try the skill out again. My initial plan was to go with an Evasion+Dodge based Raider, but I find your very detailed and exhaustive guide to be a very interesting read for a different approach to more eHP. You've obviously spent a lot of time optimizing this, so I'd like to ask a few questions. - I don't really have a 20ex+ budget to dump into this build; maybe 10ex if I can scratch it together. I imagine the most important parts would be the 2 6link Quill Rains, Kaom's Heart, Dyadian Dawn, Dying Sun, and a quiver with fDoT + additional arrow? - What do you think about using Thief's Torment? I've seen it recommended in other guides for the massive life on hit it provides; coupled with the tons of arrows we unload in the single target setup, do you consider this an effective enough boost for our life sustain to warrant giving up one ring slot? - Raider vs Pathfinder? Pathfinder has the supercharged flasks (including the +3 arrow Dying Sun with the right tree), but Raider can easily reach high values of Evasion and Dodge, plus higher Attack Speed which directly translates to more DPS due to EA mechanics. Traditionally Pathfinder has been the one that scales better with high currency investment, but with my lower budget, Raider feels like a solid alternative. - Do you consider Evasion+Dodge + 7k life a sufficient amount of defense to survive? Your build obviously has higher eHP with Fortify + Divine Flesh on top of the high life value, but I've generally been a fan of evasion+dodge builds as they make you near immortal against trash mobs when coupled with the ranged advantage during mapping, so at that point I'm generally happy with just enough eHP to survive most oneshots. What's your stance on this? Here is my planned PoB for reference. https://pastebin.com/q5nJe2tB Last edited by Inkaflare on Jan 8, 2020, 5:39:11 AM

" Sounds about right, but keep in mind gem level/quality on EA is also very important. I really dislike Thief's Torment. If you really wanted LGOH you could always hunter exalt slam rings for LGOH or just not use it. The issue is using it reduces a lot of EHP and resist, and life recovery isn't really an issue right now in POE, its instant deaths due to not having enough EHP. I don't like raider for this build. I think you need 8k as dodge and should still expect to die if playing Metamorph. Undisputed best alpha tester since Awakening beta.

Crafted myself this +2 amulet for *relatively* cheap and it increased my ignite dps by a magnitude. Just awakener orb the two amulets with hunters/warlords influence. Since they are both prefixes you can scour off the suffixes then multimod (got lucky on the slam with fire damage). Just remember that these +1 gem level mods on amulets are currently bugged and won't go into effect unless you unsocket/resocket the gem or weapon swap every instance you enter Last edited by PestyHunter on Jan 8, 2020, 2:37:14 PM

" The +1 for fire does more burst to the dmg instead of the fire dot? You need to destroy with the awk orb any of the bases or one of them specific? Last edited by Brenovisky on Jan 8, 2020, 5:12:58 PM

This good enough or should I keep fossil crafting for better resists? Still need to add the Focus Craft but can't seem to get helmets to drop from Jun encounters. Nostrademous
