[3.17] Wallach's Hierophant Freezing Pulse Totems (No Further Updates)

Well, overall the new tree is less efficient than the old one, but I don't think it'll impact the build too much in the grand scheme of things. I'll work on a new passive tree when we get a PoB or main page tree update so there's some kind of shareable link.

With all the changes to passives, awakened gems, and unique we've seen, what do you think the tldr is in terms of impact to the build?

I think the masteries are masking alot of nerfs. I also main summoners and they're all basically saying on the forums that whilst the masteries are nice, the actual tree has had loads of damage and attributes removed. Assuming these crazy uniques are expnsive and rare, it sounds like summoners, and probably other builds, have actually been nerfed quite alot, if you peel away all the hype.

WOW, +3 to level of all critical support gems and +25% crit multi against unique enemies in mastery.

Mastery is my best friend now
Reddit is going crazy about nerfs to the tree. We've potentially been sold this as a buff league, but really there seems to be a whole lot of nerfs to the tree!

Minions hit very hard, channeling clusters simply deleted lol.

If this works on awakened gems it could be really easy to get unnerve from Awakened Controlled Destruction level 5 early on.

I dont believe + to gems works on awakened, but I may be wrong.

if all gems now have been correctly marked with a critical tag then I do not see why this does not work on awakened crit gems.

It would probably work with Awakened Controlled Destruction, but it doesn't really matter now considering that gem is entirely dead for critical strike builds. We can't run it anyway.

PoE Planner is updated so I'm messing with that until PoB is updated. Here's what I'm thinking currently:

https://tinyurl.com/yzvxu6wj

This would be the ~95 skill tree prior to Viridi's / Reflection. We'll be able to run an Essence Worm now alongside a single Kikazaru from the start, which I think will make the aura cluster probably more worth than the totem cluster next to Ancestral Bond. I'll probably just dump Clear Mind altogether as a suggestion and recommend running Clarity from the outset, as we'll probably just come out the damage start from Templar now and use Clarity to get the mana regen back. Even with Essence Worm, the Clarity mana reservation efficiency in Mana Mastery (plus the aura cluster) will make it not very painful to run a max level Clarity (and this opens up some good Watcher's Eye options).

I'll be easier to make fine adjustments when PoB is updated, but my initial tinkering leads me to believe that the really high end of the build is not going to change very much at all, while the progression side of things (like the example tree) will be better off. All told that's a pretty good result since I think the biggest pain point of the build currently is single target damage around the first Sirus point of Atlas progression.

Skills that would Summon a Totem have 30% chance to Summon two Totems instead

What do you think about this mastery? I hate the idea of the RNG-dependent QoL feature but is it worth dropping Multiple Totems Support and running Empower instead (later with +1 gems corruption in the Soul Mantle)?

+2 maximum summoned totems is too much to give away
