[3.21] ShakCentral's Cold DoT Elementalist For Everyone
" Sorry if I'm offending your, in your eyes, uber build :) Every league i delete all my chars. Tested one, thats the one you see. So no, sorry no troll. Maybe other people than donbrawler could give some neutral insight on the boss killing of this build? ;) |

Thanks for the tip for Poison BV or BF/BB as league start and better boss killer.

@dwaters: You are actually right.
Discipline is not "active", only vaal discipline is used. I find this surprising but "follow the guide" ^^. Disclaimer: I had that wall of text laying around, so now at least I can happily use it :P ---- Until I transition to LL, I usually don't use any of the big 50% auras, and don't bother with an enlighten. Since act 1 I like to run vitality as who doesn't like free hp regen? For the campaign and early mapping (before ci). I run * blasphemy + frostbite * malevolence * vitality or clarity at pretty low level (str restricted for vitality) As soon as I find a good aspect of the spider piece of gear I spec out malevolence for it. Then I switch to CI. With CI I usually run: * aspect of the spider * (vaal) discipline * blasphemy + frostbite Some people prefer skitterbots But I'm no fan of them. This leave 10% mana. 16% if I take the 2 reduction nodes on the sovereignty wheel. You can use that remaining mana to run vitality around lv 6-10 (restricted by your str, mana and if you took zealot's oath or not). Then I try to "spec out" frostbite by using a frostbite on hit ring or by using my personal favorite way: cyclone - cwc - frostbite - ele weakness (or temp chains) in elder fortify boots. Now I can take malevolence. With a lv4 enlighten and the 3 mana reduction nodes, I can fit flesh and stone and dread banner too. I did that when I went 1500+ deep in delve. But Now I go LL waaaay before that point. With a lv4 enlighten you can fit skitterbots instead of the 2 auras too. Finally you go LL. You then get a prism guardian to fit the 3 big auras (malevolence, hatred and zealotry) on your life. You then take all mana reduction nodes and their mothers. You can take 2 "self control" cluster notables (30% reduced discipline mana reservation). But I find it mostly useless if you don't take skitterbots as now you are hard limited by the number of gem slots on your gear and not the mana, even with one unset ring. in LL full aura I use: * malevolence - hatred - zealotry in (+2 aoe/aura corruption) prism guardian * discipline in +3 levels unset ring. * aspect of the spider * lv 6 clarity * lv 12-15 vitality (depends on your str) * dread banner (for the less accuracy and inc fortify effect stats) * cyclone - cwc - frostbite - ele weakness (or temp chains) in elder fortify boots * flesh and stone To fit all these gems in my gear I botch my cold snap setup and leave it an 2 link with bonechill. It leaves me with 120 mana but with an "aura stacked" clarity it recharges twice as fast I can spend it. The thing is there is no "final" state to play the build, you improve it constantly by taking pieces out to put some better one in. And please note that this is *my* way. Use at you own high risk. " If you don't mind dying now and then they're still very good indeed. However, Vortex has the option of being tanky and safe. All starter builds are pretty balanced so nothing will excel that much over another. In endgame this build has very good DPS and insane defence, which is why I will opt for this one this time since we don't know much about the 10 bosses fights. |

thanks roselan! i'll juggle offense/defense and which to use when while double checking numbers in PoE until i can get in to LL with everything up at once.

Thinking of using this as my league starter but just wanted to ask if this'll be a good overall build for a "casual" to do most stuff in the game? :)

Hey! Looks like a great and fun build to play.I really wanna try a delve and also other content viable build.I just wanna know what was your deepest delve? And was it hard to deal at that level?As far as I heard +800 is pretty hard and after 1.5k its pretty worth to play.

" I think you will have a hard time to find a more chill build. Pardon the pun. It's very flexible, some like to use 3 skills. Me? vortex on left click, and sometime cold snap on bosses. And flask of courses. It's main issues are move speed and aoe for clear. " I have pushed vortex to 1500 depth (I was deepest vortex in blight, metamorph and delirium according to poe.ninja). Not recommended. Over 800 you need CI or path around fungal caverns. I was switching between a 860es vaal regalia with 6% es on kill (but I think this mod is legacy now) and an 475es explody chest. Full block with a es on block shield (and legacy glancing blow). 12k es, malediction, aspect of spider, flesh and stone and enfeeble (and frostbite). It was an exercise in frustration to pass some nodes, sometime I had to go back 40 nodes after one hour of frustrating deaths. But I was farming at 800 and leveling at 400 to 600. With the latest full DPS LL version, I get OS regularly at lv 500. Yet I had an pretty easy time killing Aul at lv 940 (20M dps do wonders to you :P). Any QoL leveling/gearing loot filter adjustment suggestions? Aside from the recommended color links, anything specific ya'll would recommend highlighting? Will be playing SSF this league so probably need to run something less strict that I'm used to.

Hey everyone! Probably starting with this tomorrow, but I have to ask: is leveling as coldslinger better than leveling as described here? I'm on the fence after hearing about how amazing the coldslinger leveling process is.
