My question would be, why do we use withering step?

I still don't quite understand that skill, it looks like a phasing movement skill, but flame dash does nearly the same and lets you blink over walls and gaps

Withering step applies elusive and phasing, elusive being pretty useful because you gain 20% movespeed, chance to dodge spells and attacks, which decays quickly. But personally I use flame dash for movement and have elusive boots and found that combination panned out far better

Thats my setup after switching over from an Elemental Hit Build.

What would be the next upgrade which would boost me the most?

At the moment I could only get a 5Link Death's Opus.
I'm planning on some Abyss Jewels but my tree is occupied with some Elemental Resistances Jewels because Tabula gives me no Res.
I could get rid of The Taming and get a Shaper Ring and Mark of the Elder but what happens to my Res then?

I'm not the most experienced person here but my 2 cents:
* try to get a hyrri's ire and a death's opus
* your skill gems are not quite what they should be. try to look at the recommended ones by aquarism.
* i would go for a mark of the elder + a ring with assassin's mark. your resistances will drop but you can fix this with other items.
* the quiver has 2 great affixes on it: additional arrow + elemental damage but you can definitely improve it with some resistances and ideally gain frenzy charges on crit strike ( it will help you against bosses).
* a helmet with barrage fires another arrow would be great. come to think of it you might be better with barrage vs ice shot+barrage support.
* damage on full life support seems to me to be relatively lacking in DPS. I for one can't be at full health all the time.
* a watcher's eye with adds additional cold damage while influenced by hatred would help too.
* basically you need a bit better gear ( might be an investment) and you need to wok on your gem links.

I didn't know the pierce implicit would be negativ to my dps, i thought it might be a good improvement.

I was mainly looking for one with decent life, because 4k Life can be very scary in T16 maps. I didn't try bosses like guardians yet, single target still feels a little low to me. The knockback on critical hit is more annyoing than helpful since you tend to push some bosses around the map outside of your PoV and start to miss them (might just buy the MTX to see them better)

I craft the 5% frenzy on crit if i find someone who can craft it in standard (no luck with quivers yet)
Can somebody help me understand why The Green Nightmare is important when using voidfletcher?

Doesn't Ice Bite support give us all of the "frenzy charge on kill" that we need?

Not for bosses, as you will not have any kills at some bosses. Having no frenzy changes will result in -15...-40% dps.

Also icebite seems to be 10% less damage for me, comparing to awakened cold penetration.

Bought an awakened cold penetration. Gave me 3k on the ingame tooltip for barrage.
Anyone feel like taking a look at where I'm at and helping me decide on what to upgrade next?

I'm not using withering step, didn't feel right but I might pop it back in and test it more.

I have about 20ex and a bunch of unsold fossils atm.

I'm thinking elusive boots or culling strike gloves. Don't think I can fit resistances for both unless I get a new belt. pob has my belt giving me 7.8% dps. Maybe start looking at a charm with plus skill gems?

Build is feeling pretty good, could feel better though. Map clear is great not really worried about upgrading the gems in the iceshot link, I'd rather get barrage up a bit more which should buff iceshot anyway.
