Love the build, got an amazing staff today...
Now its off to Linking :)

How happy are you with the new belt?
Is it worth it?

Too bad on the cast speed but OMG gratz on the +3 gems!

And yes the belt is worth imo. I would HIGHLY recommend having the +25% increased effect of Offerings on your chest piece to pair with it though otherwise you lose 1/3 of your recovery from Spirit Offering (it also makes the Bone and Flesh offerings 50% more effective). It's basically like having another free onslaught (Flesh) and insane block chance (currently +25% of each) with life recovery on block. You will definitely want these two on a high level CWDT though.

I really like the playstyle of this build, but I might have to move on :/

I got the only armor with ES, life, and +offering that was on poe.trade, but I'm still dying to T5 Metamorph bosses. My AG died as well :(

Not sure if I'm bad, the league is hard, or what, but for the level of investment I sure do die a ton.

Hmmm. I rarely even get hit by the bosses (keep my distance and cyclone in big circles around them).

That said, you should look at getting a better weapon as that one is doing basically nothing for your damage. Even a cheap Temple modded Fire Damage%+Fire damage to spells scepter would boost your damage by a lot; and when things die faster you don't. :D

You can also try implementing:
1c ring

or

More expensive mod:

Put CWDT+Ball Lightning+Combustion+other spell and you'll be recovering tons of life as it will ignite multiple times per enemy. This will save you from everything shy of a one shot basically.

If you do that, try taking Ghost Reaver for 2 points to give yourself a really consistent ES leech (up to 20% of your ES per second). This, in a addition to Spirit Offering, will give you a lot more recovery.

I would also wait to use the AG if he's dying. It's a pain to remake him. I'm currently not using one (though I will in the future) as I don't have the socket space.

Again, kite the bosses. We have no reason to be in melee with them :)

Hope this helps! I know it can be hard to get it going but it's definitely worth. :)

Edit: You have some tree optimizing that you can do. Take the 1 int node in the northwest section of your tree to connect it at the top. This will let you remove 3 points near your start. Then also remove the Explosive Impact Cluster and all the associated travel nodes. Use these to get Doomcast and, if you do what I outlined above, Ghost Reaver.

I've spent a lot of regrets on this build in addition to all the ones available from quests--I know the feels :)

Thanks, that all definitely helps! I respecced a bit and tried kiting more against bosses. I think I need to get out of the melee mentality and let the fireballs do their job. Will check out some of the gearing suggestions tonight.
Hi Gryph, I'm trying this build for the first time and having some problems. Currently running the "budget" build.

1) I can't survive with Soul Tether. Somehow I'm not getting much ES net gain out of Spirit Offering. Have 2.5k base HP now at lvl 68. So I'm still using Perandus Blazon haha. What am I doing wrong with Soul Tether?

2) I've got Scold's and Doedre's Malevolence but I can't seem to transition into CWC. My ES never catches up with the Scold's damage. How do I ease into CWC?

3) Assuming I can't 6L a staff because I suck at farming/getting currency, what are my best options for gearing?

Thank you!
Anyone upgrading from a Martyr of Innocence and got one for sale?

I still can't figure out whether I should be going for a CWC staff or Martyr first...

If you can afford to 6L a staff, then a CWC staff is your best bet...if you want to start playing the build effectively and budget is not that high...get a Martyr. (Typically always start with Martyr on lower budget) If you can't 6L a staff for the 7L it will be worse than a 6L chest with Martyr--unless the rest of the staff is also god-like.

I think I'll be removing Soul Tether as a belt option. Seems like you need to have more base life and damage (for leech cap) to make it work--which means at low levels it's not functional in the same way as in my "budget" videos. Alas.

For Scold's + CWC with Malevolence, you should okay to transition. If you're taking too much damage to keep up with it, try using Soul of Gruthkul for 5% physical damage mitigation, Soul of Lunaris for up to 8% and maybe toss in a Basalt Flask. This will lower the damage you take per hit from cyclone a make the procs feel smoother. And as always, levels helps.

Great Build! Was able to clear everything up to Awakener with only scolds, Doedres, Martyr and a tabula. Rest was generic 1c rares.

Awakener didn't work, but mainly because i run out of mana without mobs where i can refil my flasks. What do you do in such a situation?

I also finally got my 6link chest now after spending 2870 fusings on 28quality (almost 15 ex ~.~). 7 link Staff is next probably. But still don't know which mods to go for.

I haven't seen the awakener fight yet, but typically on my Blight Character I could mana my mana flask to last the duration of the fight (or until it gets filled by phase change/adds)

If you stack enough "Gain x% of damage taken as mana over 4 seconds" then mana will never be an issue and you can drop the flask entirely. Can be gotten on a watcher's eye (up to 20%) 6% on rings and amulet as a prefix bench craft, and Battle Rouse anoint if you're on a budget is 8% (still prefer Charging Offensive though).

I use the flask because it's so easy for so much content and not hard to acquire.

Ah that's helpful thanks. Got it on a ring for now.

You say that warstaves can't roll the mods we need, and every base with block I check says it's a warstaff. Which bases do we use then? Cheers
