[3.10] Gryph's Volatile Dead Necromancer || Fun, Medium Budget, Tanky, Millions of DPS

I might have to play with that when it drops then. I had penciled something together after the spellslinger info drop that had an elemntalist who could run a 6 link VD spell slinger + anger +zealotry (with auls) +herald of ash + aspect of spider that i think was also going to be able to run a second herald that was looking interesting.

Honestly though, I mostly stick to standard (prob just making a hardcore guy to do a little Cluster Jewel and shard farming to ship to standard this league), and I am pretty happy with how my necro is still performing after trying a couple builds. Honestly I tried specing back into Corpse pact using the Doryani's and just being minor attentive to my HP, and I was able to run guardian maps aside from the one I tried with -74% HP recovery rate, and I still beat that one, but I died twice to chimera's smoke phase. I would probably still drop CP just because it isn't needed and makes things a little more mindless if my APS doesn't get that high.

I did also try switch to my CoC gear and doing one of the versions without scolds and it wasn't terrible, and probably was more damage when fully ramped up on CP, but I don't like being forced to close in when I don't want to.

Absolutely loved this build. Can't believe they just upped and gutted it like that when it wasn't even that popular of a build to begin with. Well there goes all of my standard currency and my league starter. Nearly 100% of my cash was in items for this build.

If I were to do CoC I'd use a bow and Asenath's Chant I think because I can keep my distance anyways.

And yeah I think the build will still work if you want to invest into it. It's just not gonna be the same smoothness as before

Unfortunately it wasn't this build alone that was abusing Spirit Offering. The zombiemancer builds were also using it to do stupid things like facetank uber elder. I think this nerf was mostly in retaliation to those builds (along with zombie nerfs and baron nerfs).

ALAS :(

Would love to see what you come up with if you find some alternatives to keep this alive. Will keep an eye out to see if you drop a new guide for a diff build this league. Now i'm searching for a league starter with two days to go lol.
Gryph,
build is not dead.
"It needs to adapt, like everyone." - Cooper, Interstellar.

Our trouble is that we can't anymore rely on Spirit Offering sustaining our CWDT with spirit shield. So our problem is that we need to sustain spirit shield in some other way. I don't have the game knowledge to in depth analyze this, but:
- 1st example: this could become an elementalist. Necro spec was just to use spirit offering; get elementalist, get some insane damage boost and 0,5 ele dmg leech, get ES leech nodes with anointment or just respeccing minions node.
- 2nd example: we have a chest slot free, lets take the armor with "chaos dmg doesn not bypass ES", blood magic on our auras, we swap for a pure ES+MoM build with watchers eye "%dmg recovered as mana when hit while affected by clarity".

Please, someone with more gaming knowledge than me, don't let Gryph abandon this.
BUILD CAN LIVE!
F.

unbelivable every fun build are destroyed by the bald guy team but hey, it's not an issue , lag , shit mtx and 90's trading form are still untouched !!

enjoy your next 10 days league summoner all
Gryph, this was one of the most fun builds i ever played, and had a blast with it in metamorph, thank you very much for sharing this with us. Thank you very much for everyone in this thread for helping me out with this build when I needed it! i think i would have given up on the build if it was not for you guys!

Well, it was really nice while it lasted... See you all in delirium, hopefully!
Thanks for the great guide. Last league I started out zombie necro and couldnt stand it. Tried a few other builds, never found anything that could deal with the new difficulties of meta the way I was wanting. Then I found this. Man. I had so much fun last league with this build. I normally quit after a few weeks, I ended up playing for almost 2 months, killed all endgame ( never killed Elder or UElder prior to this) and ended up making over a mirror worth of currency with this build. I had full intentions of playing it again this league, guess not. RIP =(.
still playable in standart league right ?
