recommendations for a budget and/or possibly minimum gear to kill end game bosses like elder and such? thoughts of Astramentis instead of great wolf ammy?

Also wondering, how does the build handle Uber Elder. I know I have more than enough damage and survivability to do it. But what about the AG? So, did anyone have the balls to go for the actual BiS weapon? Corrupt the crafted 2h mace for Fortify or Onslaught, making it an 8-link :D
Or maybe double corrupt for both to make it a 9-link? :P | |

I'm sure you've answered this somewhere, but I've checked the last 10 or so pages and can't see anything: Is there a reason you chose to go with a Mace/Maul over a Staff? I would think that picking a Warstaff (like a Judgement Staff) that can only roll Attack mods, and also has the 18% chance to block implicit would be a superior choice. Is there some interaction between the weapon damage and minions I'm not aware of or a mace specific interaction with the build that I missed? Also, is there any reason to choose one weapon type (Say Judgement Staff, 117dps) over another (Foul Staff, 104dps) - given that they are both high enough ilvl? Thanks in advance! | |
 Finally got Uber Elder to spawn (It took me a hell of a lot of maps to get him to finally get all 4 guardians). I am using FIVE-LINK Zombies and FOUR-LINK Skeletons. Fight went really smoothly and it was easy. I died once to a massive lag spike, but aside from that I just ran around in a big circle while the boys took care of it. " Staves can't roll +1 gems and maim. http://poedb.tw/us/mod.php?cn=Staff They can roll +2 spell gems and fortify if you go elder, but it is A LOT harder to roll (both are prefixes and +1-2 to spell gems is at least 10 times as rare as the +1 socketed) and it is still imo vastly inferior. On a different topic, easiest Uber Elder ever. Instantly phased for the whole fight, and none of my minions even took damage. Was worried about losing the 300c AG gear, but it wasn't even close.
