[3.17] Hybrid's Molten Strike Jugg - Hold right click to TANK anything |MELT the Atlas|Divine Flesh|
Hmm, I did read that but didn't retain the "less mitigation on big hits" point.
So that's why basalt is popular, it does bring a real mitigation even against big hits ? Same with endurance charges/chaos golem ; so these and Fortify are the only real ways to mitigate physical damage taken when not dodged/blocked, right ? " Oh wow, I did not know that! That's a bit misleading, it's definitely not as impactful as I thought. How bad of a shield would you replace Lioneye's with? For example, I got this in my stash, should I be using that instead? Don't have the money for a great one yet for sure, but I'm guessing my best shot at one is Harvest crafting it
" look at the chart from the wiki, the bigger the hit- the less effect armor has against it. so while 5k armor will mitigate 83% of a small 100 damage hit, it will do basically nothing (2-3%) against a big hit like the shaper's slam, which is about 17k damage hit when he doesnt crit. to mitigate 83% of the shaper's slam solely by armor you will need something like 850k armor! this is why you want to combine defense layers, and yes, basalt is popular because it is a flat % mitigation against physical damage, which means it will always mitigate the same amount regardless of how big the hit is, same for endurance charges. if you plug in the numbers into POB you will see that our actual physical reduction against the slam is only ~40%, which isnt enough to survive (17kX0.6=10k). BUT! we mitigate that hit by other sources like fortify, nature's patience and unbreakable. on top of that we use the pantheon to our advantage and after all the calculations we should only take about 6.5k damage. (this doesnt include immortal call since its not reliable against these kinds of hits as it proccs by damage taken, but is great for recovery after getting hit). now, of course you dont really want to get hit by the shaper's slam and its pretty easy to dodge, but this is just an example. also with the new content you might be facing multiple bosses with big hits that you wont be able to always dodge :) " i think the shield is ok overall, wouldnt worry about it too much. try to get one with +% to all max res, because as i explained it also applies to chaos. Nice build... is Jugg the best class for that? or could i tr y something else???
and how d oyou think this build perform comapred toa frostblade for clear speed / bosss / survivabilit??? thx alot
" my frost blades clears much faster, molten strike cant compete with it mechanically. but MS can clear decently fast and survive-ability (and thus bossing) is much better.
" So... Frost blades are faster clear speed and MS is more tank and better for boss fights?? and just a noob question, why we use Divine flesh to take damage as chaos?? since it is easy to cap elemental resistances? Last edited by andrelb1 on Jan 31, 2021, 3:25:24 AM

Managed to get myself elder helmet with +2 projectiles to molten strike and craft immolate+conc there. But then find about wssence enchant 30% more elem damage and want to know, what gives better buff to build.
Get to 93 so far, exxtremely tanky and easy to play, but still, feels as i lack smth. Great ave to author for this build) Last edited by Pechenko2212 on Jan 31, 2021, 10:27:26 AM
