The issue was that there is no survivability unless your literally leeching off mobs. If you don't leech for 1 second your literally dead in a millisecond. This build is way to squishy and don't enjoy getting set back in exp. I'm doing 2x the dps right now and 5x more tanky and I'm using a shield.

Squish squish squish and more squish. Cyclone your getting up close and personal so there is no reason you should be squishy as a cyclone build. Cyclones are tanks, and this build is just not tanky AT ALL.

There are plenty of ways to make the current build tanky but that isn't what it was meant to do. No where in the entire build does it say it's a tanky 'foget everything' build, so I don't know why you were expecting it to be. That said, boosting HP with kaoms and having some good HP rolls/jewels I can get around 8k on my ranger while still destroying everything.

If you are enjoying the tanker play style, I'm glad but you're complaining about an aspect that this build wasn't meant to be. If you want you could try the slayer version and then you'd still have the over leech while not hitting things. That would solve the issue of not having healing while dodging things.
And the second problem with this build is that it shouldn't be a freeze build it should be a shock build if your using the Atziri Axe. Shock works better with Atziri Axe because it has huge physical damage, which can do triple the amount of DPS. Freeze should only be used with big attack speed so the mobs are frozen more often. Shock with big physical damage weapon like the Atziri Axe, the one your using = huge amounts of BIG damage in 1 hit. This build is just wack, no offense. Shouldn't be a freeze build it should be a shock build.

For example: If you shock with a jewelled foil with increased attack speed it will do small amounts of shock damage but a lot of the small hits. But if you shock with an Atziri Axe it will do huge amounts of shock damage because of the physical damage. The more physical damage the bigger the shock, the bigger the hits. Means you can clear maps more quickly and bosses will be taken down a lot more quickly.

This would be a perfect shock build but the freeze is just a waste.

What is the point in making a cyclone build if you can't even sustain it. Cyclones are mean't to be tanks because your literally getting up close and personal. This build should 1) be more tankier since its a CYCLONE build. And 2) This build shouldn't be a freeze build it should be a shock build because of the major physical damage on the Atziri Axe. And 3) This is so squish its ridiculous.

1) That'd be your opinion on how the game should be played. Not everyone wishes to play the way you do. Many people have had fun and success using this build over the past two leagues.

2) I chose to go cold damage and built the build towards it with how I like to play in mind. If you feel inspired and wish to use your knowledge of what a 'cyclone build should be' I hope you take the time to put together a guide for a build. I have been working on a fire version for inquisitor and would be interested in seeing a lightning take on it.

I was looking at trying to make a lightning one using brain rattler and Inpulsa's Broken Heart for fun.

Again, I understand your feedback but using absolute statements as if you speak for everyone who plays PoE makes you come off as arrogant. Many people don't care how tanky they are in softcore(which this build is for) and just want to plow maps as quickly as possible. Some don't even run red maps except for the altas bonus and prefer to chain the t10 shaped map of their choice.

Build didn't work out for you, I cannot comment on why or help in any way because you had changed everything about it by the time you posted. So.... I look forward to checking out your upcoming 2hand lightning conversion build? (shrugs)

Was reading through your gear pieces and saw you mentioned in your gearing section that you prefer "Death's Door because bleed+fast move speed = nearly instant death". In case you didn't know bleeding damage does not care how far you have moved over a duration while afflicted; only whether you are moving or still. Bleed deals the same damage over time whether you are moving at 25% ms or 300% ms

You are correct and yes I did know how the mechanic worked! Thank's for pointing that out, I'll reword that to be 'fast clear speed' rather than move speed. I see how that could cause confusion.

The comment and why I prefer death's door is because while clearing so fast very often I would plow a pack and come out the other side with a massive stack of bleed. If it wasn't noticed immediately or I was already hitting another pack it was instant death. Noticing my own lack of seeing the bleed so often I just worked Death's Door in. ;)

Ok. So generally, I am 89 lvl with this build and here are my thoughts about it.

1) This build is kinda of glasscannon. If you won't watch out, they will oneshoot you.

2) Takes time to do bosses because of low hp and item cost that requires to be powerful enough to kill them

3) Clear speed and damage is super high and fun to play. If you play some time with this build and learn how to play it, you are very strong and fast with clearing things.

4) Cold damage is super cool

5) For begginers, better go ahfack's crimson cyclone, but this build is IMO way better if you know the game a bit more and its mechanics.

For the most part, true on all points!

This build was based around the previous version of Vaal Pact so it is more glasscannon than it used to be. I generally use it for speed clearing maps when I'm taking a break from the mindless slower bulldozing of the Slayer version.

Ahfack's cyclone is fantastic but if you do wish to still use cold dmg the Slayer version of this build is beefier than this version. A bit slower but much less glasscannon... or just as much if that's what you like heh.

Hey Muirey,

How do you have so much life on your character?

https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/SanguineSleet/characters (Truehunterlegolas)

I only have currently 4935 and the gear all has pretty good rolls on it. Thoughts? Doing the non-VP build.

Not knowing exactly what you're referring to I'd guess probably using Kaom's heart.

If you're doing non-vp you definitely want to go more life. Darkray boots are fun but probably not as helpful as a high life roll pair of rare boots.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've been quite busy past few weeks but over the next few days I'm going to be sitting down and updating the guide including the leveling trees. The trees will basically be a ranger start of the tree's for my Slayer version of this build. After leveling it up a few times I feel that it's a better tree and can give some more hp to a ranger to make it not feel so squishy.
There are also a lot of new things out since I last updated the guide that need to be added. Watcher's Eyes, Loreweave, voidforge just to name a few.
For now if you're interested in the end tree...
