I personally use SRS until i get to blood aqueduct or maps, but you can switch to pure Zombies as soon as they have enough life regen from the passive tree to survive.
Killed Shaper, was easier than I thought. I have Raise Zombie 21/20 and Empower 4 though. Zombies and Stone Elemental survived the fight without resummoning. I do think my Summon Holy Relic bite the dust though. I desummoned Animate Guardian before the fight just to be sure (to not lose items).

Zombies do very nice damage to Shaper, not much time spent damaging him (I also use War Banner). Zombies withstand beam quite well, I didn't even need to use my manual Convocation setup. Bullet hell and teleport slam didn't damage them much either. Degens didn't have a chance to pool up since fight was so short.

Gauntlet phase is slightly longer than usual since my only movement skill is Shield Charge. I could use Lightning Warp over Summon Holy Relic for gaps I think.
Is Discipline worth it at all over Haste or Hatred? The extra energy shield could help with keeping you and your zombies alive and then you'd have enough Mana to resummon them if needed, and you don't even need to use Enlighten anymore which opens up another slot.

My Carnage Chieftains linked with Blood Magic (21/20 spectre, 18/19 BM support socketed in the baron) seem to kill themselves at the first pack regardless of what tier map I summon them from.

Has something changed with the way they work?
My Chieftans don't kill themselves with the same setup as yours. Not sure what you have going on.

Sounds like you use a low level Desecrate gem to generate their corpses, which means they will be low level, even if you summon them in high level areas.

While leveling what is a good order to pick up rest of the nodes? And what is good level to realistically push myself to 1000str?

Do you think this videos skilltree order is good or how are you doing it?

I am leveling up a Discipline Gem to try. I am still doing lowish level maps and I have no problems with survival. I'll try it out if I have life problems!

I cant really tell you exactly how to path after you have all the important nodes provided by the skill tree in the leveling section. It depends on the strength you have on your rare items, so you probably need to calculate a bit. But it shouldnt be that hard to hit the 1000 strength threshold once you are high enough level hit maps.

Keep in mind that you need the "Mistress of Sacrifice" Ascendancy node and at least 1000 strength before you can equip the chest, otherwise you can only get life back though flasks and your ES recovery also will be really bad.
I have Raise Spectre linked on Blood Magic. I have one Blood Chieftain (for frenzy charges) and one Host Chieftain (for power charges). However, I only get power charges and not a single frenzy charge during the whole map. What's the problem?
