[3.1] The Blinding Blizzard - Whispering Ice Berserker - Viable for Most Everything
OK, here's how Mino with some mods goes without VP at all:
Video: No VP? Under T16 there was no difference at all. Maybe with crazy mods, but I didn't bother testing. In T16 I had to dodge the Hydra and some of the stuff Phoenix did. But that's with the default 20% leech cap, i.e. I had to dodge anything that can kill me in less than 5 sec. VP 3.1 is 40% cap, so we'll only need to dodge the things that can kill in 2.5 sec. " But without Vaal Pact u had some hp regeneration, right? So do u think it's still playable in new league? c:
I'm curious how this would interact with Spell Cascade.. It should work with Ice Storm but not with Scorching ray..

I'd be interested in what people do in the first few days of a league with this build that allows them to get the necessary gear promptly.
In Harbinger, I decided to start as marauder rather than getting another class to 65ish quickly and using that to fund my WI character. That kind of worked OK, but only because I found a kind soul willing to sell me a WI cheaply at level 42. I certainly didn't have the ~7 chaos going price for the staff until Sunday. It took me the weekend to get to early maps and to start the chaos recipe farming to get the astramentis (about 20 hours of play.) Am I doing something wrong? Should I farm wherever it is now for cards to turn in for a WI? Is there a not-obvious-to-me thing I should be doing to get the appropriate rare gear easily? When levelling up, I'm finding the most difficult thing to get is getting enough links on my gear. It was only in the last mayhem league that I discovered the item vendors change their contents everytime you level. So I will be checking them out more often and using shards & alchemies as needed to get something useful. It takes me a couple of hours in that weekend to check trade and optimize my beginning rare gear for elemental resistances. I don't see how to do that quickly. SO what is it you do during the first three days of a league?
Hi Kel
nice to see that you try to optimize the build for the new leage. We will see how the new bosses are going. If they are really as strong as it seems, there will be more things that kill us. On the other hand will all builds who are using vp have that problem. So i fear the most overpowered builds will be spectres, mines or totem builds. And all of them i hate so much. I tried that all but the best build was yours because i can jump into trubble and clear the things myself. Not uncool spectres nerving totems or annoying mines. As i had some time to waste i tried the wi char in std with legacy pyre, better gear and it s unbelievable how strong that build is even without es. I will miss it so hard :-(( Last edited by ichbinwerichbi on Dec 6, 2017, 10:45:53 AM

what about the storm barrier use whiling chanelling SR?
| |
" I don't think we need power charges here, we are using elemental overload after all... and if so - it's not worth it to replace our damage link on SR. |
|
" I'm curious about that one too. But no way to test it early.
" I'm leveling to 39 with Sunder on the first day and then going to see what happens. Each league is different, especially when big changes happen. If I can't get the staff super early, I'm leveling a farmer alt and farming Act 9 with IR until I get WI for the main. Totally can just continue leveling with Sunder and farm with it for a while, but I need to see how leveling with WI goes, so I'll just pause at 39.
" Yeah, the only way is to try those new bosses and see how it goes. I'm not sure if the ele reflect map mod will be doable with the new VP. But hopefully it's going to be as rare as No Leech, so I'm not really concerned about it. There will be no random reflect rares, and that's all that matters. |
