It is obvious
I know not to place/dismantle them in centre of map where Zana is going to span safe-bulb in his teleport phase, trying to do it at perimeter
Problem is that vortices causes pain in 5% of fights, slam do rest,
It's like in t16 forge with increased crit/multi+increased eledmg+areadmg when Phoenix detonates his firebomb
3rd encounter is unpredictable, in theory I can beat his 45% hp (average hp % pool when entering 3rd phase) in 20-15 sec, like in 1st phase
most cases that is the way it works, clone is not a problem
BUT when You die in 3rd phase from slam everything seems to be collapsed, You re-enter arena and experience kind of mess never saw before last fail,
My setup contains:
-arctic armour 20/20
-granite flask
-basalt flask
-optional flask
Seems fine?seems to be enough?
You are wrong
Next goal is to try strike him with staff to get fortify before slam attack
That kind of improvement upgraded my Chimaera success ratio to 99,5%
But buff with fortify in Chimaera encounter is far more easier than in Shaper's
I quit shaper for a couple of days, have 4 piecesets and about 30 t16 maps
Will revisit him in late this week with about 20-24 sets, then I will try to improve my skills and put myself to test
EDIT
made an improvement of flask setup
armour buffed to 12,6k, avarage phys dmg red 77%
I don't run flasks other than a single sulphur on shaper and even that I forget to use half the time. You should be dodging 100% of the teleport slams any time you don't you should be assuming it's a death. If you're trying to face tank those, you're going to have a bad time. It's VERY easy to dodge and there's really no reason to face tank that. If you're wanting to face tank it just because or whatever, fine, but know going in it's not a wise strategy.

The reason we facetank the Shaper is because that's valuable DPS time. You move = you don't DPS him and then you have to lose more time getting back to him. Sure thing, you can just dodge his attacks, but it's not a good strategy with this build because it takes 5 sec to achieve max DPS. If you dodge, the fight gets much longer. And time is your enemy there.
Hi Kelvynn! First of all, thanks for sharing the build!
What are your thoughts about using the Red Nightmare with this build?
Thanks!
We can't deal chaos damage (see Avatar of Fire). And even when you can (in Standard with legacy Pyre), 5% extra dmg + occassional endurance charges from trash isn't worth a jewel socket. You can get a lot more from a socket.

I completely disagree. The fight is a classic MMORPG dance, a very basic dance at that. There's an enormous room to drop things in the zone. I haven't tried, but I'm fairly certain I could take him from full life to dead in phase 3 with only my MF staff. Shaper isn't difficult at all at the upper tiers of the build. Surviving in the zone late is hardly most dangerous than most high end MMORPGs are if you are top tier guilding. I really don't know why people are afraid of vortex on this map, just put them all to the edge or out of the way and it's practically a loot pinats!
This is bad. Your Basalt flask needs to be 2-use, 30/60. Get one with reduced charges. The chance of the Slam happening more than once per phase is very high. In my experience, it happens twice almost always. And get the Granite/Iron Skin back, that's the best.
If You checked my profile You may notice setup contains 5th flask quicksilver
For shaper's I replace it with 2nd basalt
Yesterday i did 20 minotaur's runs, and setup 1 x bas+1 x gran is enough for his burial phase
The phys mitigation tooltip is deceiving. It consists of 2 parts added together:
1) the guaranteed phys reduction: Basalt, Tukohama (and AA that's not a part of the tooltip)
2) AVERAGE estimated phys reduction from Armour (AR from gear + Granite) against an AVERAGE enemy.
The 2nd part is an average, i.e. subject to random, and it has an unwritten limitation that's not mentioned anywhere in game (but you can find it in the wiki): AR cannot mitigate more than AR/10 physical damage (after other reductions).
I know that, but thanks for explanation
My question is, have You ever tried to "vigilant strike" Shaper during fight (e.g. during beam, casting orbs) to get fortify?
This trick helped me survive many Chimaera fights with nasty mods or "last cloud curse"

Actually, for Mino all you need is protection against shock. His Burrow attack does the same damage as his mace smash attack. It's big, but as long as you are standing still and leeching it's not a big deal.

VS/Fortify is useless against the beam because the beam doesn't hit (just like SR doesn't). I always hit him with VS at the end of the portal phase though, in case he goes for the Slam right after it. But other than that VS is not very useful against the Shaper.
Tanking his Ball Barrage is fun, but there is a high chance that you will die: he fires a barrage of 3 balls, they start moving slowly and accelerate with time, and then he teleports away (starting the portal or bubble phase) and those balls reach you when he's no longer there to leech from. RIP.

Burial is 100% phys, only sweep and basic melee is 30% lightning convert
I mean situation when boulders are falling down on Your dome, he disappears underneath thus You can not leech from him but still taking damage from rocks, golem leech is negligible for this considerations) This occurs rarely, but even when facetanking him in reach of staff, and suddenly You are facing massive phys blast when Mino is unburrowing
At first glance You can easily avoid AOE phys attack, but covering ara with ice shards makes Your perception slightly retarded

I mean gaining fortify to prepare Yourself for slam attack not for beam or balls.
Thanks tof explanation
I hate balls, died many times welcomed after re-entering with salute of 'em "in Your face"

What does Cast while Channeling 21/20 exactly give us? On WI, it is lvl 22 then, making the spell cooldown 0,34 s instead of 0,35 s, but what does that mean in practice?

Your DPS increases by (1/0.35) / (1/0.34) = 0.029 = about 3%.
