Do you mind sharing the build? It sounds interesting.

Look at bottom of guide and it shows "other builds of mine"

I have a guide up for toxic rain occultist, though there are a few changes so make sure you read changelog. For example berserk/rage/timeless jewel is not used at all anymore.

Found it in another one of your threads, thank you!
What do you think of the viability of this build with all of the changes, especially the hit on Vinktars?

Think it is the same as all other builds. A lot of people keep asking this question about how do I feel about viability of x build with x changes.

The changes to gems and flasks are going to nerf every single build out there and bring the dmg down. That was the point of 3.15 NERFdition. Unlike things like trigger gems, archmage, flaskfinder, or a few others that are completely gutted the mechanics of the builds have not changed.

Meaning for sake of supports and flasks you can essentially ignore them. Was bottled faith, cinder, dying sun, vinktar, atziri's, rumi's etc etc nerfed? Yes but it is still going to be the best choice of flask's for the build.

Support gems may end up changing on some builds depending if something outperforms it now but that it pretty easy to figure out once POB is fully updated.

For example my TR Occultist build that I plan on doing for 3.15 6th link has efficacy, now efficacy literally gives no extra damage and just extends the duration of the skill. There is a GOOD chance this gem will now no longer be worth it at all in the build.

So far this build specifically yes vinktar deals what like half the flat dmg now, but will still be better than the normal flasks which were completely gutted as well. Would you rather have 10-65 flat lighting dmg, leech, lightning res and reduced lightning dmg taken, shock nearby enemies on use or having the new basalt flask which gives you..... taunt on hit lol.

However little changes will have to be made. For example we were immune to elemental ailments and did not have to worry about vinktar shocking us and taking the HUGE 50% more damage ourselves. However now there is only a 50% chance to avoid ailments while phasing. I would assume this works for vinktar as well, but it is probably pretty important to get some jewel implicits or something and bring that to 100% or make sure you have an anti-shock roll on a flask somewhere.
considering to league start this in 3.15
How is the pathing for early tree? just spec the endgame tree and path to vaal pact first, then soul raker?

And how is bossing pre Cluster Jewels? I am always very slow on rolling these in a new league

Edit: any tips for early single target? currently doing a practice and brutus was painfully slow with ST-Onslaught + Puncture

Edit 2: do we just use a 3 link with st-lmp/gmp-edwa until act 6 or should i do library for added lightning?

Honestly pathing means very little in this game now. Pretty much offensive vs defensive vs pathing nodes. Unless it is a very specific build that needs certain nodes (for example trap/miners get huge qol and such from certain passives) it is just a matter of damage vs life. Soul raker wheel is prty nice because you get a ton of damage so i wouldn't wait too long to grab it. By maps you should definitely have it. I also usually try to get acro + phase acro pretty early. So in general I would start towards bottom of tree, get some life stuff and the dmg stuff, work on frenzy charges once you have at least your 4 ascendency points.

Cluster jewels and normal jewels in general I ALWAYS hold off on until the end. They are super expensive/unfindeable early on, usually a PITA to roll (especially larges with 3 mods) however medium clusters are super easy. I would still go all other points though before really going for clusters.

I did a practice run yesterday with 2-link CA and 2-link blight and brutus and merveil both felt prty bad alrdy tbh.... the idea that they massively buffed hp and damage and shit in a1 makes me want to cry.

Clearing with ST is prty good but single target can be a bit rough. Should much rather go ST + added lightning and ofc try to get as much flat ele dmg as possible on any gear pieces you get.

Added lightning should be your first gem and link and you can get it in a1. Don't think ranger can buy it, but just ask friend/guildy/pubber in town.

Thanks for the quick reply. Where exactly are you converting to lightning damage on the build? I just see a bunch of recommended rare items and that one node for 50%. Or was 50% the goal and not full convert? Sorry i'm not very good at pob haha.
Will you be posting an updated PoB link before the start of the season?

I am not sure what node you are talking about.

POB is updated, just click the button.
Awesome, thank you!

As a question, do you think this build has enough DPS to run juiced T16 maps etc now? Or do you think there is a limit to what this build is able to run? (not counting specific mods like ele reflect)
