New Rathpith Globe for 3.7 looks pretty bad for this build. Suggestions on a different shield/block setup?

" If you are not using necro aegis and victario's charity then I would think just a good rare with as much ES / resists as possible. Hey Mika, New league looks pretty hype. A little worried about the golem targeting vs the mobs that the monolith's spawn. Golems don't seem great at targeting un-killable things quite often just endlessly attacking them. I suppose we can use things like storm brand or arc to try and aim them a bit. Kinda thinking flame golems will either be amazing because of their clear or terrible if implemented poorly. Hopefully I am worrying about nothing......may not start golems though for once until some others have checked it out. Really hoping that one type of those new socketable jewels that modify the passive tree are minion focused. Be nice to get some juicy new minion passives all over the place and maybe, just maybe.....we'll see +1 Spectre change to +1 golem!!!! |

" Hello :) Glad I could help ^^ " Hey :) Physical endgame bosses and chaos enemies before raising enough chaos resistance can be dangerous even with min-maxed gear. Good to hear that your doing great while mapping. I will check the stunning when I get to play more after GGG patches standard map tabs. " " Hi :) Yep, rare shield with lots of ES and spell block should be equally good. "Daresso's Courage" could work as good alternative while saving for decent roll. New league sure looks good! I think that GGG has done some testing with minion build and they can target immobile enemies. If not, then lots of builds will be screwed. Staying on same target may be realistic problem, but at least Flame Golems have carpet bombing with GMP. single target minions will take massive hit if it happens. I'm hoping again for some Golem / minion focused items in the league. Zombie gloves give slight hope that we can get some minion focused items. I would love to get +1 Golems mod in shield / gloves and +1 Spec on boots ^^ [3.12] Flame Golem 101 - Complete Guide To Golemancy, All Bosses Down, Necro, Elementalist

Just watched the Karv video about the upcoming league and he brings up a pretty interesting point about the Rathpith Globe shield and using it with necro aegis.
Given Golems high regen them sacrificing 4% of their life will take less than half a second for them to regen back. Rathpith gives you 2% increased spell crit & 2% increased damage per 100 max life. If your golem has 30k life that would give them 600% increased spell crit and 600% increased spell damage. Isn't that just a massive buff even over the normal Victario's charity or is my maths / understanding wrong? Anyway, interesting possibility since I am sure you can get golems life to probably 40k ish??? [Edit: A little worrying possibility. Karv also points out that Necro Aegis is no longer present on the skill tree in some of the promotional screenshots for the new league. So either the Historic Jewel removed it, the keystone has been moved elsewhere in the tree or Necro Aegis has been removed completely from the game because of this interaction that "might" be broken on minion builds.] Last edited by DrHarvey12 on May 24, 2019, 4:19:18 AM

" Hello :) New Rathpith would be really amazing with minions, but no way GGG is letting them get as powerful DSP boost. They will either remove Necro Aegis, which is terrible as it would drop one of the most unique parts of Poe out of the game, or they will make sure that the shield will not work with minions. If worst case comes true and Necro Aegis is removed, that will mean dropping Victario's Charity. This is not as bad as it sound as Tukohama Vanguards are main boss damage dealers and don't care about power charges at all. Also Flame Golems wont be losing that much as they don't get full benefit from Frenzy Charges when in longer boss fights they can run out of Magma Orb charges to spam. They can also run out of Power Charges in longer boss fights, which means less damage from them anyway. I guess that biggest hit would be psychological as I really, really love the charge mechanic. Map clear-speed would also take some hit as minions would lose 15% movement speed from frenzy charges and potential 1-shot crits to weaker packs, while non-crits may take 2x hits from orbs. All variants would get massive EHP / chaos resistance boost from using rare ES shield on self, so swapping NA out would be pretty easy. Golems and Vanguards can also tank endgame bosses nicely with enough base HP and regen even without block chance. However if they seem to start dying on some boss fights, we can swap Flesh Offering for Bone Offering to give them 30%+ block chance. This would be roughly equal to what NA with Victarios Charity gives them now. Combustion on Golem links makes sure that stronger enemies will get ignited reliably even without crits. Hey Mika,
I'm still hopeful that it might somehow get through their QA process and get implemented as is. Ice Golems won't see as great a benefit as they don't really deal spell damage and also tend to use primordial chain anyway. Spectres and other minions don't have the same lifepool or regen as golems so not quite so "broken" for them. At least you would probably want to invest a lot more into minion regen if you did use the shield for anything non-golem orientated. And they recently implemented Eternity Shroud into a Winter Orb meta so it's not like they haven't let fairly broken mechanics through in the past!!! Plus the shield will be locked behind a boss encounter so could be fairly rare. Anyway, I agree that the loss of necromantic aegis isn't the end of the world. I personally have never run my golems with necro aegis so for me it doesn't actually affect how I play the build anyway but I certainly appreciate that it will be a bit of a blow for most golemancers. It may be that GGG have wanted to buff shields for a while and felt that having Necro Aegis remain in the game limited the design space too much for non-minion builds that they would like to encourage shield use on. I guess we'll find out for sure on Tuesday 4th June which is when I expect the dev manifesto would be released. I'm sure they would note if / why they removed necro aegis at that point. If not we'll have to scan the patch notes for the occurrence of Necro Aegis. If it's not there I could get quite excited for flame golems this league.....assuming that the minion targeting isn't terrible for the new league mechanic!! " Hey :) There's still hope! This would however push Flame Golems way past other minions as they benefit from both lines and have excellent stats already. I guess that GGG is trying to push channel mechanics to be more popular atm and last league was self cast spell focused, so The Eternity Shroud could have been designed to push more players towards it. I understand removing NA 100% as two coolest & most troublesome designs imho are : 1) Raise Specter = You have to design all new monsters keeping in mind what links / items players can link to them and how powerful they will become 2) Necromantic Aegis = You have to design all new shields keeping in mind what Specters players can use it with (almost all monsters in game) This results on TONS of work and sometimes broken interaction like Tukohama Vanguard + Tukohama's Fortress = Extra totems. These are nodes that I think gives players most choice in Poe but also requires huge amount of extra work from design team. I guess GGG would be happy if both would be gone as it would result in much faster design of new monsters and shields. Most Shields have been very lame so far as they would always break some minion with NA. Btw, I think I can finally add real starting skill for leveling this build. I have been testing both "Holy Flame Totem" and "Purifying Flame". Both are decent damage skill for early levels and most importantly add "Consecrated Ground" to keep Zombies alive. They also work way faster than "Springleaf" with Necromantic Aegis, so they will be starting skill as they enable true minion build right from the start. "Grave Intenstions" will most likely be added to leveling phase of the build as +2 Zombies is huge DPS boost when they can survive all fight. GGG really did good work adding high regen early level skills as minions dying was biggest problem for early minion builds. Hi guys,
this is my char: https://pastebin.com/mVzTaPyZ Can you help me to improve it please? The only thing i 100% know that i have to change is helm (my totem literally sux, now i'm gonna switch with golems to try single target dmg). Thanks a lot! | |
" Hello :) I checked the PoB, but I'm uncertain what Golems you are using as main skill? The Skill tab is pretty messy and has lots of overlapping stuff like both Flame and Ice Golems as 6-link in armor? If I can get some more info about your plans, I can give more precise advice. Maybe deleting or disabling skill groups that you are not using makes it cleaner.
