Those with the PvP Thirst
" Right, your "wife". Must've cost you a fortune- OH TOO FAR I HAVE CROSSED THE LINE! Moving on. (That was a joke, everyone) Like I've mentioned to you before, Left 4 Dead 2 is a fun, simplistic game to play when you wanna just kick back and shoot shit, and it has Versus mode, which is its pvp. The VS community is largely a toxic cesspool of ego-stroking shitstains who lack good sportsmanship, and players who seem to have never played an FPS. Borderlands 2 is good too, I recommend you give it a shot if you want a RPG/FPS. Also, I've said it before but I'll say it again, LoL and Dota are the McDonald's of games. Hearing people talk about it at work forces me to suppress my elitism. And by that, I mean don't show off my impeccable taste. As for the last bit, I'm not rich enough for the game to bore me, so that's where we differ. But I DO wish the pvp in this game wasn't such a joke. Lavender or Leave. I don't like seeing Battlerite being compared to LoL and Dota. It's not the same genre at all.
In Battlerite, there are no items, no creeps (or NPC of any kind), and the teams are either 2v2 or 3v3 only. The only luck in this game comes from what teammates and opponents you get if you are queueing solo, and 2v2 is the more popular mode because it minimizes that luck aspect. Most newbies who come from McDonald MOBAs (I'll borrow that term) tend to be disoriented in Battlerite. They think they should avoid the tank and focus the healer, and they think it's important to stick together real close to avoid getting focused. Those are common mistakes and Battlerite isn't simple like that. Strategy and tactics are fluid. There are some constants or good practices, but those could be called technique. Movement is very fluid in Battlerite! You use WASD, not point and click, so there's constant dodging and great freedom of movement. Your movement skills are also on a short 8 to 12 seconds cooldown, so those vital escapes are never down for long. For this reason, focusing one target is difficult and often a bad idea for your own safety. You can fight back. In typical MOBAs if you get pulled to the enemy team, you're dead. There's nothing you can do. In Battlerite if you get pulled in, you will most likely walk away with more than half your health. Healers are not heal bots, they are support. Their healing is quite limited and easy to outdamage, and if someone takes more than 40 damage without getting healed back, it reduces their maximum health, so this game is about chipping away the enemy team's max health. To compensate for that, support characters bring a lot more utility and damage than in more traditional or typical games . If you're not convinced to give it a try, at least don't dismiss just because you don't like Dota/LoL. If you do dismiss Battlerite for this reason, you're most likely missing out on something you'd like because it's nothing like them. | |
