So I'm playing this build currently over 68 starting maps. I am doing the raider version. I just crafted a 6l decorator bow last night. My ice shot is now 10k dps on tooltip with full frenzy and power charges. I now am having mana issues only able to first 2 to 3 shots before a pause for mana. Also went mobs are elected resist or cold resist the packs don't explode very easy. Is there anything I can do to improve these issues?

Thanks

Helpful if you set your character to public so gear and tree can be checked. I personally have no mana issues on a 5-link and even specced out of Spirit Void, but don't know if that can change on a 6-link.

For resist, you need the Forces of Nature and Primeval Force nodes if you haven't taken already or simply higher dps will fix the problem ;)

Ok fixed

Thanks

Ok I'm pretty sure your issues come from Drillneck, you have to get rid of that and get a good rare quiver asap, not only got it nerfed, but Drillneck is not an option for this build, because projectiles can only Chain OR Pierce and since we want to Chain - Drillneck harms the build.

Just wanted to say I'm really enjoying this build! Started the league as elemental spectral throw Raider but was able to transition to this once I started maps by regretting some of the tree.

Here's my gear so far, just about to hit 80. Love the satisfying crunch of clearing dense maps and breaches are super fun with this build. Rip every once in awhile but the agility allows most things to be dodged. Not sure what the ceiling for this build is, but I feel like I'll be able to map for awhile until I burn out or make enough currency to try another build.

Any comments on recommended gear upgrades is appreciated, I'm a little low on life. Thanks!

Ultimately, the build will be enjoyable until you are ready to start another build and when you do it has given you the currency you need to do that. I love the build but I like doing multiple builds per league so this is always nice to start with. Your gear looked fine, only thing I recommend is a bow upgrade and you have plenty of life on gear so you should have a decent amount if you've grabbed the life nodes on the tree. It will be light on life compared to other builds so you would have to tell me what you have currently to see where you're at.

Hey Xeno thanks alot for this nice guide and for taking time to answer all the questions.
I started the league as an IS Deadeye and now i'm trying to upgrade my gear piece by piece.
Right now i'm using a Lionseyes Glare and asked myself if i should keep it for the next time and upgrade other stuff or blow all my currency in a death opus or slivertonque, which woud be way cheaper. Would it be worth the damage?

If you have enough to pick up both Slivertongue and Rigwald's Quills I would say do that, its a massive power increase and you don't have to drop as much into links. Otherwise, you can get Death's Opus which will leave you more for other gear if you feel they still need to be upgraded.

idk if i missed it or not. but what would be good enchants for helm/boots/gloves from the lab?

I've felt like I forgotten something in the guide since I created it, thanks for the reminder. I will add these to the guide as soon as I'm done replying to all the posts.

Sorry if this was answered earlier in the thread, but any advice on priority quality gems to get?

Usually all my gems hit 20 at the same time and I usually have enough GCPs to get them all at the same time. I wouldn't recommend dropping 20 into a gem unless you had tons and at that point I would only do the two main attack gems.

I just had a pair of southbound soldier gloves drop for me. Looking at them, they seem really good for the build. Do we not use them because it requires enemies to be frozen to kill?

I don't think these would top a Maligaro's Virtuosity because of the crit chance and multi. I do like the increased life on them but it is small and wouldn't help much. The added Herald damage is also kind of wasted since we dont care if HoI did 1-2 damage because all it needs to do is hit to apply the curse.

Ive tried out a few things with the 2 empty sockets. Summon Skeletons was just terrible so ive switched to Portal+Faster Casting. Im tempted to try out Decoy totem to help with Bosses but i imagine it will be just as useless as the skeletons were so i may be keeping the casting+portal. Its convenient.

One thing I have is portal so I dont have to grab portal scrolls, but I lined up my sockets to allow me to socket an Enhance gem with my Herald of Ice setup which gives me additional chance to gain power charges from Assassin's Mark and increased cold damage from HoI.

Hi,
I've started with this build on legacy league, it's awesome :).
I went Deadeye and currently saving currency to buy myself a new bow, here comes mij question:

Which bow is BiS you'd say for a Deadeye? Is it Slivertongue with Rigwalds? Does it mean you don't need the chain & fork runes and thus create more DPS because of the removal of damage reducers?

Also, yesterday I found a jewel which I hoped you could inform me about, its Omen on the Winds Viridian Jewel. Is this a good jewel or do you prefer another jewel?

Thanks so far!

Yes for Deadeye, and arguably the whole build, Slivertongue plus Rigwald's Quills is the single most powerful setup because it provides full damage with only GMP as a reduction. It will feel weird at first if you are used to all the chains but once you get used to it the damage output is insane.

Omen on the Winds is a topic that has come up a lot. The pierce on it makes it unsuitable for the build, which is okay because I prefer a triple or quad damage jewel if I can get one. I think this was intentional from GGG because it would lead people away from the power of Chain or Slivertongue.

I have tried this build with trash gear and able to reach Merciless dried lake comfortably. However I have now hit a "gear-wall". Damage does not seem to be a problem for packs. However single target damage is not good with this build (unless you use Barrage). Also the build is low in life which usually works ok but if you get hit you're dead - that is the biggest downside of evasion. Normally it would not be much of an issue, but labyrinth would be very very difficult with this build to complete.

You have to remove that "unless", you must have another skill for singletarget dps, Ice shot is for clear speed, wrecking packs and freezing, occasionally to chill the scary enemies.
Blast rain is pretty good at single target and with the knockback on crit you will keep most unique enemies at bay.

I have done Uber lab yesterday with 4300 hp and 12000 evasion on my first try, it wasn't difficult.
Ofcourse you will wanna dodge Izaro's telegraphed attacks, you don't wanna push your luck.
All of this on a 5link ice shot, 4link blast rain.

Overall I'm enjoying the crazy fast clear speed and the sick life leech with Vaal pact, yesterday I did three deathless T7 Armoury with Beyond/Breach/Nemesis with full sextants and hard rolls on map. I was pretty satisfied.
I'm looking forward to having atleast 1 six socket in the upcoming days and see how far it can really push, then I will settle for either grinding maps or consider rerolling.

Oh and I've been running with a Vaal Haste since I found it in dried lake, it has kind of grown on me, it can help sometimes and it feels good to hit that 4 seconds of insanity.

I also found out I can actually play ele reflect mid tier maps just fine due to the superior life leech, it's good to have no mana flask too.
The biggest offenders in maps are the cannot leech mana from mobs and player dodge chance is Unlucky, this one is super rippy...
Also f**K that twin Quay boss, I should've identified it lol

The build is indeed cheap too as I managed to craft every single piece of equipment just buying the base items and spamming it with essences / chaos / regal whatever :D

Only thing that costed me was the 70 chaos Death's Opus prophecy.

I also found a Legacy Lioneye's Glare.. duh :D

I haven't tried Uber lab with it because a breeze can kill mine at 2.8k life but I dont see why it couldn't do uber if you know the fight well enough. Merciless lab is much easier and once you know how to make Izaro miss it becomes just a matter of how good a shot you are. Nice to see someone did Uber lab though, grats on that.
What do you guys think about my modified version? I'm only lvl 51 so haven't had a real chance to see what I can do... but I went full ele and am thinking of going elemental equilibrium build so I'm able to get that extra -50% on my 90% converted cold damage (more conversion from tree). Was gonna go dual curse as well. Not going crit primary, but instead focusing more on elemental damage and 10 frenzy charges. Raider ascendancy obviously :P

CWDT (low lv)
Ball Lightninng (low lvl)
COH
FROSTBITE

BLASPHEMY
ELE WEAKNESS
HASTE
ENLIGHTEN

CWDT (20)
ICE GOLEM
BLINK ARROW
FASTER ATK

RANGED TOTEM
BLAST RAIN
WED
FASTER ATTACKS
ADDED FIRE
(conc//inc aoe?)

Ice Shot
ELE PEN//LMP
Increased cold
Faster attacks
WED
Chain//LMP

For equipment I was gonna go drillneck and use that ice shot gem and scale damage upwards that way as well. Was likely going to use lionseye bow so I don't need to worry about the accuracy nodes as much while scaling physical damage quickly.

My thoughts will be the totem and my low lvl CWDT should flip the ele damage as fast as i can use my ice shot.

Skill tree is as follows (higher life and more survivability IMO)

http://poeplanner.com/AAYAAPUSIwB4AF4A7gUtBbUILgzyEYEUdRUgGY4hdiLqI9Mj9iT9KjgqTSzpNZI51DrhPs8_J0MxSshM_02STeNOKlFHVvpaGluvYetirGOnbIxuqm8ndO16U3rvfyuBrIazhs6NfY2_j2Caapsmm42dqqXLplepebTFtfK95sEzwuzDM8M6yMzPetN-1CPYvdrB3Q3dRt9v5GrnVOjW7T_tg-4O73rvj_JF_gr-j__eLlPTbzB8N9QzkkMTd9cwcd2oS3g6Qr_VU7t29zH6oJ-3PkGH-eiCxyj6mK39bn7dePmNubIZMgEXJnqE0K1B0F9wg208vtjVAAAAAAA=

With curses and ele equilibrium I think I'll have
-50% resist from EE
-8% from tree cold penetrate
-11% from tree ele penetrate
-37% ele penetration
-44% frostbite
-35% ele weakness

This will amount to... -185% target resistance.... which should translate to about 370% increased damage?

Coupled with the 90% conversion to cold... i think I might do a whack of damage.
