[2.6] Flash Freeze Ice Shot Ranger

Does anyone want to tell me quick if this build is better with deadeye or Raider? OR are they both about the same?
I'm only level 70'ish so far, but I went Deadeye for the builtin chain (and eventually +1 arrow) and I'm happy with the results.

Feels like Deadeye is better with budget items, but maybe Raider will scale better if you have top end gear.

Packs blow up instantly in a shower of ice shards, which is a lot of fun. I'm using Barrage as my single target boss killer since with the Deadeye's builtin chain, it helps pick off stragglers on the edge of the screen while I'm focusing down the boss.

As far as the missing packs, there is a lot that goes into this. First what is the pack size of maps. Second where is your cursor when you fire, or better phrased where does the server see your cursor when it detects your fire command.

First part is easy to see why it would be easier to hit all your arrows, the second part is where I notice myself missing more often than not. The easy part of this is if your cursor is close to your character it will fire a wide angle and the farther it is the less angle it has on it. Of course the server has a bit of lag on it so you may see your cursor to the edge of the screen when you fire but the server saw it much closer to you. Happens more with quick jerks of the mouse than smooth slow movements but sometimes you don't have the time to go slow.

Without being over your shoulder or having more detail I can't see what is happening but I only recently started using Endless Munitions giving me six arrows so I haven't noticed a problem yet. (I'm not saying you don't already know this, I'm just laying it out there until I have more information.)

There is a gap in Deadeye/Radier. Deadeye will probably feel better for a new player just coming up in the currency making process, where Raider will feel better for someone who can invest in extra Frenzy charges. Deadeye does have a power jump when it comes to that free Chain, if you can get a Slivertongue Deadeye is very powerful and that doubles down if you can get a Rigwald's Quills. Both the original creator and I have played with this and love it. Even as someone who can make a bit of currency to invest into toons I still love taking a Deadeye through the Frenzy charge tree and mixing the best of both worlds, but that Slivertongue makes the Deadeye a strong competitor to the Raider.

If you do get the confidence to take this into Apex of Sacrifice (Atziri), you will need Blast Rain. That free Chain is fine now but it can also cause Barrage to Chain into her mirror split phase and kill you instantly. The main reason Blast Rain was chosen was it couldn't Chain and has a great elemental base damage.

Just wanted to say I'm really enjoying this build! Started the league as elemental spectral throw Raider but was able to transition to this once I started maps by regretting some of the tree.

Here's my gear so far, just about to hit 80. Love the satisfying crunch of clearing dense maps and breaches are super fun with this build. Rip every once in awhile but the agility allows most things to be dodged. Not sure what the ceiling for this build is, but I feel like I'll be able to map for awhile until I burn out or make enough currency to try another build.

Any comments on recommended gear upgrades is appreciated, I'm a little low on life. Thanks!

First, I swapped Added Cold for ICS - way more damage but I guess that is known^^ For the playstyle part: Due to the fact that Deadeye has Far Shot and I'm running around with 3.8k life and am one-shot if unlucky, I'm keeping the very long distance most of the time.. I guess the angle is too far because of that and that's why the outer arrows aren't hitting.. respectively maybe I'm just too lazy to move the cursor so much from "normal" movement to shooting in a lesser angle back and forth - if you know what I mean^^ I think you are right with the lacking packsize, e.g. I feel in breaches LMP is way better, but for the moment I will stick with ICS, because the clearspeed is faster and when I eventually get a 6-link I will either go LMP in higher Maps or ICD-- Ty for your thoughts!
Hey Xeno thanks alot for this nice guide and for taking time to answer all the questions.
I started the league as an IS Deadeye and now i'm trying to upgrade my gear piece by piece.
Right now i'm using a Lionseyes Glare and asked myself if i should keep it for the next time and upgrade other stuff or blow all my currency in a death opus or slivertonque, which woud be way cheaper. Would it be worth the damage?
