Wow... the flamage and fanboi hate is strong in this thread.
IMO - I have Voidheart and Reach, and personally if they're going to nerf future iterations they should nerf what I've got on my toons. Or they should just leave them well enough alone. Yep, both were OP as heck - Reach especially - but hey, the new bow we've seen showcased for Essence/Atlas is even MORE op. Forkpiercebleed... yeah, no. And not a whole lot given to melee to make it viable against ranged, except to give melee more ranged (EQ, lascerate). Melee should be the single-target king bar none, one-shotting bosses while ranged builds kite and plink. But no, they nerf the only class (jug) that can survive in a toe-to-toe fight with a small number of bosses, without addressing the NPC one-shot-kills-ANY-build excess. The closer the player is the lower the damage output of the target should be. And even the best jug builds can't stand up to all of the content. Now that map mobs are tougher above tier 4... yeah, melee's in a very bad position. I'm not much pleased with the changes, but I've never had the lucre to actually focus on the new meta monstrosities so I'm not out much at all, besides a little time investment. But those people who have spent weeks or months tweaking their champion characters just got a spiked boot to the reproductive organs... I don't envy their ire. Patch Notes 3.15:
Fixed a bug where players believed the game was playable. This has been corrected and made retroactive. Patch Notes 3.19: Fixed a bug where players adapted to 3.15. This bug cannot be corrected, so we have implemented a 90% reduction in item access as a punishment. |
