[2.4] Theorycraftin' a CI Storm Call Elementalist
Appreciate the notes Lapiz. All is good here, and feel free to give any honest feedback. Yeah I'm never going full fucktard with pathfinder like everyone else, I just won't do it lol. And yeah this is my first es build so you're definitely right about the status ailment part. Ha! :)
I don't anticipate beating full on cheez builds, but we'll see what happens. 🎆🎆 www.youtube.com/c/Ahfack 🎆🎆 NEW #1 LLRF Helm -> 30% MORE|25CON|25BURN|-12fire|352es 🎆🎆 #1 Phys/Impale Leg 70% Multi Amulet + #1 Phys Rings! 🎆🎆 ^^Free 7L Fortify Cyclone! 🎆🎆 https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/534134 Last edited by Ahfack on Aug 15, 2016, 12:24:39 PM

" Don't forget to get 100% cold resist! If you know what I mean. All you need is aegis (+5) legacy diviniation distillate (+6) Level 23 purity of ice (+5) That far ass node on the skill tree in the ranger area (+1) (may not be necessary) A cold flask of your choice (+6) The witch flask effect nodes and/or a flask effect belt Taadaaaa! A small investment, obviously. no no
there is an increased effect affix on flasks "You have great power. You're right to be proud. It's unfortunate you have to die now, but I will honor you with 45% of my strength."

" Oh that. Hum yea that could help. I basically have a running joke with ahfack tho because 100% cold res is the only way to not die to vortex trap. It's not easy to cap cold res. Crit Shockwave Totem 650k +: #1657327 / Crit VMS (1 mil DPS): #1511368 / Crit self-cast spark: #1565708

100% cold is easy, Vortex is hard. What you guys are complaining about ?

With this build you're going for an uphill battle. You're trying to get enough offence while still having a defence, to kill characters that invest almost everything in defence. The difference being that you are trying to do it with a skill that isn't completely broken in pve (only mostly, like every other skill nowadays), that gets it's damage fully lowered by the t formula and that checks dodge+block. You are in fact trying to make a hipster pvp build in standard, which I think is great ;)
About 750% increased being enough or not ... You're dealing with significant diminishing returns at that point. Going from 700% increased damage to 740% is only a 5% increase in damage. You seem to be missing out on the shock multiplier and of course on crits. An inquisitor could drop breath of thunder, celestial judgement, grab a whirling dagger, invest in crit chance and end up with more dps+mobility. Then you could start collecting crit multipliers on jewels and there would be no contest anymore. About valyrium: since this is your first CI build, I would build for cws with stun recovery. Cast when stunned on a CI char is pretty strong. About your regen: it's not going to save you from being instagibbed, it's not going to recover your es faster than es recharge will, so I'd drop it and use the points elsewhere. Harrier is good, mental rapidity too if you run out of jewels slots to take. |

Yea, honestly you're better off speccing into a bit more offense than defense, especially with PVP in the state it's in. You're just gonna get one-shot anyway, no matter how much ES you have, especially if you're not some ultra regen-tank.
Playing CI isn't really COMPLETELY about being able to just take damage and survive; to some extent, you just have to be good enough to play as it, meaning, move around, do shit, retreat if you get hit, etc. It's a different playstyle than life builds. Lavender or Leave.
