PvP Feedback - The state of PvP in PoE - Forum

I don't mean no disrespect, but capping so many things (or anything really) sorta promotes a success through mediocrity. Maybe a distinction, caps for 1v1 but leave arena as a sort of sandbox for showing off the showy stuff where men can really push it to the limit? I mean, there is also low level dueling for exercising restriant but then you don't get the really cool toys (though that would be an acceptable price for not letting people be the snow flakes we want to be). I'm just concerned that you guys think any influx of folks into pvp will be anything other then people hearing that it'll be easier to get Leo's hideout, you're setting yourselves up to be heart broken. The people who aspire to be like you guys (aka pvpers) stuck around despite how harsh "balancing" is in pvp. It might look like 5 people at most, but you stick around arena for a day, even a non daily day like today, you see upwards of 20. That's not just the same folks either, always seeing new guys, just hope they don't have Gorsz expectations. It's a game based on lots of build freedom and itemization. The only way you can ever balance PvP in this game to some degree is to hard cap certain mechanics and apply a proper PvP algorithm. I.e 40% crit chance, 400% multiplier, 5% life regen, es recharge caps, 50% block cap, 30/40 dodge cap with the block penalty still attached. Things like this allow you to still farm for the very best gear but eliminate topping it off in problematic ways i.e Rumi's. You build your character around these caps, they don't limit how good your gear has to be. If anything you'd find it opens up more gear freedom, allowing you to swap more easily regardless of your build to handle PvP issues etc. You don't give PvP only gear, normalized stats across the board or anything of that nature because that distracts from farming altogether. Only way the two co-exists is when you balance PvP this way where you both feel the game is balance and your gear/gear choices matter. Right now gear choices matter only so much, builds are hard countered more then they should be and/or you die instantly even in the very best gear in the game. Thank god we at least got greendude to do something about pvp earlier!
