[2.4 updates] Voltaxic Volley Fire Barrage Deadeye -- Well Barrage is now #1 Bow Skill

How much crit chance do you have? I feel like assassin is a great choice as well for obvious reasons. Especially with barrage, because you should be able to keep power charges with unstable infusion due to the sheer amount of hits you do. Noxious strike is also good because it allows you to poison especially with barrage, and toxic delivery also gives your poison 100% more damage on crits, which is big.

However, deadeye is really powerful too. It's got 70% projectile damage which is a MASSIVE deal with this build, and it also has a solid 200% crit chance and the 30%ish more damage at long range. Crit would still be lacking though, but the projectile damage might make up for it.

But with the assassin the crit is insane.

Opinions?

Well, I did start the build from scratch with low-level gems, so that's probably the issue. And I refuse to pay an exalt for a leveled barrage gem when I can just level it myself. I also mostly equipped gear I had laying around so. For the moment, I specced into the mana leech nodes since they're right off the path, so that feels a little more comfortable.

So playstyle wise, am I supposed to spam barrage? Or just do like 1 attack per second or something?

Here's my gear, if you want to compare. (Ignore the bow link mess, I keep trying to link it, so it's in a state of weirdness from running out of fuses and moving to other characters)

Spoiler

Low level (only 76), low health (maybe 3600), no special level gems, no real quality, but I can out leech elemental reflect very easily. My mana is never an issue, and I can run fairly difficult T9's and above if I feel like it very safely. The gear is relatively inexpensive. I spent more on the Rat's Nest than most other things combined.

What I do is spam Barrage usually. Most things only take a hit or two, but some are tougher. Either way, I have 3.51 APS with 3 frenzy charges up. So a few casts are quite fast.

I personally have 70% with 3 power charges up. That total doesn't include any of the 50% increased crit I gain from Powerful Precision's pierce/crit bonus. That's plenty of crit considering the lack of real power charge investment. Assassin is basically useful for Toxic Delivery. Nothing else is truly that useful. Where as Deadeye has huge DPS boosts from every point. Powerful Precision also saves you around 5 passive points because you don't need to pick up the pierce nodes on the tree.

The build lacks defense. Your defense is almost entirely in your mobility and strategy. Stay away from things and dodge projectiles. When it comes to Izaro that is. He hits like a truck and there's no way to avoid getting hit like a truck (which is why you strive to not get hit at all). Having a BotB or something similar is a good option if you can't afford Cospri.

This is just something you get used to as a bow/ranger area build.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but why don't we get the Piercing Shots nodes since we use Drillneck?

It's because of the Powerful Precision ascendancy node. It gives 100% additional pierce chance which is reduced the farther the projectile travels. This should still give 100% pierce chance on most mobs hit.

Personally I'm having some doubts because the tooltip DPS does increase with Piercing Shots and I have played with and without and feel like it clears faster with Piercing Shots... still, a feeling is not a proper proof.

If you have 60% pierce chance and Powerful Precision gives 100% additional it would be 60% + 60% is 120% pierce chance which is capped at 100%. If a projectile is travelling further and the additional chance is 50% it's still 60% + 0.5*60% = 90% pierce chance.
You don’t stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing.

I've tested it too, and it Piercing Shots node does increase tooltip pierce chance to 100%. Without it, tooltip reads 60% with Powerful Precision. I guess that leaves two questions: Does Powerful Precision increase our projectile damage by 40% even though the tooltip suggests it does not, and if not, then is 40% more projectile damage worth 6 points?
If it does not, then I guess I will just use a Poacher's Aim jewel for 25% projectile damage for 1 point instead, 6 points seems a little too much to me.
yeap this build lack of defense
can get easily 1 hit ko if not careful

Enjoy Legacy!!!!
