PVP Supporter Pack - Chris responded 7/10 & 7/11 & 7/12

To address Lib's post, I will say from my observations that there is legitimate concern towards the general direction that the game is willing to go. Or rather, the general direction that the company is willing to go. The "casual" effect, or basically what is in effect diluting the "difficult" aspects of the game, sacrifices devoted/hardcore players for what is, in my opinion, a temporary boost at best at revenue. Ofc I don't need to bring up D3 or League of Legends in depth, however I am sure the majority of people in this thread know what happened with the direction of those games.

From a mostly PVE Player's perspective, GGG has not broken my threshold of bullshit tolerance for me to give up on them. But then again, reviewing the content in Lib's post shows me that from a PVP Player's perspective, more attention is probably necessary to cater to that crowd (sans the Grandmaster thing, which appears to be an outlier). The reason I am willing to support this also comes with the fact that I know a lot of people in this subforum from various situations where I've had the pleasure of crossing paths, and that PVP interests me in general. Thus is the reason I am willing to give this a chance.

calm down dudes. NZ is like denmark, its high taxes, high salaries system. when you hire someone, you pay half of the salary to the government, only the other half gets in the hands of your employee. NZ tracks everything that GGG does, you cant make people work for cheap, NZ woudlnt allow you to hire cheap work power because they want you to pay big salary so they can get his big tax, and thats what they care for only. also every job field has its own workers union, they set the minimum wage for each job. so even though minimum wage is 20 dolars per hour, you cant pay a programmer 20 dolars per hour.

if you dont pay those taxes, they fuck you up. big time. its very hard to make foreigners work for such companies in such countries, cause NZ tax system would tax GGG with NZ prices anyway. everything is under control, there is no escape from tax.

20 dolars per hour is like minimum wage here in denmark. NZ was close to that. for 20 dollars people flip burgets here dont do programming.

found it. lets assume one programmer gets 15 dolars per hour, he would get 120 per day, 2400 per month. im sure in real its like x2 x3 times more than that. and those programmers have some hierarchy too, some earns more than others.

having a company with 50 employees trust me, costs shit loads of money.

they at least require total 500.000 dolars income monthly to sustain such company. probably 200.000 of it is just tax that they are supposed to pay to NZ. NZ

count me in though, ahfack should bring this pvp supporter pack idea. i'd definitely buy some.

Im sorry to say your making a lot of assumptions as to what went on behind the scenes with the whole greendude PvP patch. I was involved in helping them balance PvP and it dosnt work at all like youd expect. We would get very little input, we would get very few tools to test new balance changes, we would get very little communication from GGG. GGG isnt going to just work on the things we want they are going to do PvP their way with our money.

If GGG actually cared about drawing in new PvPers to the game they would add things like the Hostile button back to the game. All they need to do is cater to the already very large dark souls community who love Invasions, Ganks, Fight clubs, Tournaments ect. If you're not familiar with any of that stuff check it out on youtube. PvP is a legitimate solution to the current lack of end game content in POE and GGG has said time and time again they arnt going to work on it and they dont understand why it isnt popular. Giving them more money isnt going to fix that unfortunately.

Perhaps, but we're among, the wealthiest/ best geared players in game.

Deth, I can't speak on back then because I wasn't in alpha or anything. I'm just speaking my mind of how things read from my perspective. Greendude's "report" was super depressing hahaha.

I know this is just my opinion but I just don't see it as wasting money any more so than any other supporter pack. I don't want a tshirt or art, I want pvp fixed. If I give up mtx's I probably won't use, art I probably won't ever look, and a tshirt that will be sitting at the bottom of a drawer for a chance to fix PVP, then my money is doing much more good. Again, in my opinion! :) All love, dude.

This is true but thats not quite how invasions or hostile works. Invasions in dark souls are based on soul level and weapon upgrade level so your always matched to someone similar to you. Invading and going hostile in D2 could only be done to pub games or if you were invited/knew the password to someone's game. But the counter to that is always someone setting you up with a Gank aka them and 4 friends waiting to ambush you which would be fun as fuck in poe!

Unfortunately, once upon a time, GGG gave a guy like Greendude a chance to make something out of poe pvp. Combine this cruel fact by GGG assigning some random inexperienced/inadequate dev to be responsible for the whole thing and we end up with the current situation.

Like some have mentioned, the few dozen supporter packs we might be able to gather mean _nothing_ in the grand scheme of things. A single coder with minimum wage accomplishes absolutely nothing in a complex situation such as this.. Also, GGG actually has buttloads of money to spare and it has made clear it doesn't want to support the pvp aspect of their game (which indeed, is utterly dumb since there is a lot of potential).

Granted this gets enough attention, this particular proposition might encourage GGG to invest in to pvp again. This I see very unlikely though, although they must recognize their first attempt at making pvp popular was a shallow one at best. You can't create anything proper with the wrong people.
