[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)
" You have to remember that with Drillneck now having a conditional modifier (arrows that pierce deal 50% additional damage), it's just not displaying the damage modifier on the tooltip and is actually equivalent to a Rigwald setup. It's just not as consistent because of that condition that you have to register a HIT in order to proc it. ******* Just some minor stuff, as per mobutu I've corrected the Pantheon Powers section, updated a couple things in the FAQ, the new rolls for Carcass Jack are in the body section and updated the stats for finalized 3.0 dps including a 50% Carcass. When should we use the Vuln curse and when should we use Wither?
| |
Wither's on a totem, so both, simultaneously as needed. Vuln will take care of most situations on its own but for bosses, tanky exiles, tanky rares, drop the totem there as well.
It also slows enemies so if you can predict when you're going to need it, you can use it to slow down fast-movers as well and buy yourself space. Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018. Last edited by Serleth on Aug 8, 2017, 4:46:30 AM

Few quick questions.
There is MoM mentioned a couple of times on the intial post, with references to Shadow, but nothing on the skill tree points to it? Was it left there from some old build? Also no mention of the Cherrubim's Maleficence chest. Wouldn't it be BIS with the 80% inc chaos damage? What about ED for boss damage, do you think decay on frenzy is enough? What about CWDT+Immortal Call for HC. Do you feel it's unnecessary because of all the evasion? I felt it made a big impact on fights like Kitava. Also on crafting the +3 bow, you might consider including the annulment orbs, which can make crafting it a bit easier. And any take on the spreading rot blight jewel? 50% inc chaos damage taken on bosses?
What about Vaal Trap? Tooltip says Shocked Ground increases damage taken by 15% (down from 50%), is there any good alternative to it?

" No, but it's still useful. " a) No, but I did address a few questions regarding it leading up to 3.0 so I thought I'd just make some passing comments regarding it. I don't feel it's necessary, but in the event someone wants to try it out, I left a couple notes. b) There's a balance to be struck, and as such I recommend Carcass mostly due to the all-res making it easier to equip dual-Andvarius rings. It's also nice QoL if you don't end up with a +arrow quiver. If you'd prefer the dps output, yeah, go with Cherribum's, but it's likely to take exalt-worthy gloves or a helmet in order to fit in. The build is tailored towards newer or less experienced players, so I haven't mentioned it. Before when Drillneck was BiS, resistances were much harder to come by so Cherribum's wasn't really even an option. I'll add it to the list of things though now that it's more feasible to include. c) ED takes away too many gem slots before becoming effective, in my opinion, but if you wanted to manually curse instead of Frenzy... ED will be better in a 4L+ setup. Like I said, the guide's meant to be as uncomplicated as possible for newer / casual players, and Frenzy's a much smoother playstyle. d) I've never understood CWDT-IC setups. Every time I've run it, I've never felt it do anything significant except against Porcupine Goliaths. Run it if you want? But I've always felt by the time something procs it, I just get killed shortly after by something else. But yes, it's much less necessary for evasion setups, especially with Acro and the dodge nodes up. e) Annulment orbs will only be included if Harbinger goes core. f) "Enemies hindered by Blight" Also, it's 25%. Wither Totem does this. Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018.

I don't find CWDT / Immortal Call to be very useful with cloud chaos damage. In other builds, packs of, for instance, porcupines, get killed, the first one triggers your CWDT/IC setup, and the rest of the pack does zero damage. However, as our damage is cloud based, I find the entire pack dies and explodes at once. If you don't dodge, you'll get killed before your IC is up.

" It's actually the opposite. If they all die at the same time, your IC is up long enough for the entirity of the damage to get soaked. If they die bit by bit, then the fist damage can trigger the IC, and it will be on CD for the rest of the damage.
Thanks for the build guide !
Is it worth running biscos amulet? You posted we should go for gold amulet, not sure if outdated. Check out my Fire Nova Mine Guide (3.2) : https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1774498
