[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

It does. IIRC for MF purposes it's the first instance of DoT inflicted upon a monster that takes the MF values (mostly critical for the IIR gem).

So you could fire an arrow and then connect with a 6L ED and still get the IIR gem benefit from the bow setup. It'd probably be unreliable, just because of the nature of the fight and constantly switching damage sources, but I mean you'll still get 20/240 regardless.

Then agein a howa build? or is there a new meta :-)

HoWA is strong but would be somewhat hard as a starter build - you'd need to use some other weapon and/or skill since HoWA won't be available day 1 and will be very expensive throughout the league.

Whispering Ice - converted to fire is very strong, end-game viable, and you can go Scorching Ray-CwC-Firestorm while waiting to get a Whispering Ice. This build is going to be meta though and uses CI-int gear just like HoWA so it'll be expensive.

Fire Nova Mines - converted to chaos - is a boss killer - and is also a good starter build choice - you'll need 2 consuming darks and an Infernal Mantle - but you can level/get by on fire nova mines while waiting to purchase these items. This build will likely go meta and will be expensive, especially the Uber Lab enchant.

It did.

I don't have the time right now to rework it so that it functions when the 2.6 tree goes live.

Basic principle is choose a spell (or level with attack bow skills and use the recipe to craft phys %), pick relevant damage nodes suitable for your decision near the finalized tree, grabbing life as you need.

EDIT:

I'm going to restore it until tomorrow so you can take a look. Nothing's changed for the build so the concept is the same.

EDITEDIT: Done. No idea if it'll work after the 2.6 tree goes live or not. I won't be updating it in time for league-start.

Thanks! I really appreciate you re-adding this and taking the time to make the guide in the first place.
No problem, and thanks for your kind words =)

wow

the wispering ice build i never saw. sounds a bit strange but i have 10 wsp ice in std so i can
try today if the playstyle is what i can play :-).Also i can try a class i never played templar.
I think this will be the build i try. Also the guy with the guide kelvynn sounds that he know what he say. And i can do mf :-)and shaper he said.

the mine thing is perhaps really save and strong but MINES. Thats a playstyle i tried one time
and its the most anoying thing in game i ever played. :-(((

What build will you do for the beginning hank ?
as he wrote serlet will play ca first and then switch.

What build will you do for the beginning hank ?.

I'm going Elementalist, Whispering Ice - I'll initially level as dual flameblast totems until I get a Whispering Ice. Zizran has a really nice starter build guide for dual flameblast totems and covers both templar and witch starts - probably this is the strongest/fastest option for leveling until you get a WI, at which point you respec.

I might stick with WI for the entire league depending on how good clear speed is. It's a very strong build, very tanky and is capable of all content, and clear speed should be decent to good. But I'm going to try to push 40/40 so if HoWA has better clear speed (it almost certainly will) I'll roll HoWA as a 2nd toon.

ok. Totems as mines are not my playstyle. So i will use the lvl tree from the wispering guy. Since that is the last howa season, ggg will nerf them in 3.0 i see it as you that the claws will be verry expensive. What i also tried was double scourge and i loved the wolfs.
But we will see. As wsp ice is getting as prophecy i think it will be verry cheap.
