[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)
Strictly for MF'ing, just transmute and go, alc and go for T7-T9.
Doesn't matter what roll you get. Maps are fairly easy to come by from T1-T9 or so this league I've found, so I wouldn't worry about rolling pack size til T10+ Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018.

" +1 Make sure to get the Atlas map completion bonus on as many maps as you can. Run whatever new map you find to increase the bonus. With high Atlas bonus, map drops are really nice - I've been sustaining T14+ mostly due to the bonus. Personally I've just been alching and running T7-T11. I start using chisels T12+, making sure to roll pack size and quantity. Last edited by hankinsohl on Sep 25, 2016, 11:19:59 PM

One note:
If you're looking to pursue challenges, make sure Shipyard is your only (or one of a few) tier 12, Beacon / Sulphur Wastes for T13. Reason being, the Warbands challenge. You want to try isolate those specific tier drops to Warbands until you get them done. Track the kills and once you have them complete, polish off the rest of 12/13. Same can be said for doing Overgrown Ruin, Core and Dark Forest, while leaving the other T15s until you're done the end-game grinds (assuming you want to go for 40/40). You can 36/40 without Guardians, Warbands, Shaper and End-Game if you want, but yeah, just some tips for the 40/40 push. Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018. " Ah thank you. So I do in fact take those three dex nodes but remove them later once I get Path of the Ranger? Else I would be super stuck with my character for a while which doesn't sound great. |
|
" Yup - take those nodes temporarily. |

Found these the other day. Might be worth quoting in the optional gear area of your build. Wasnt a fan of CA but yr vid inspired me to try it out. Loled to see you shoot once and everything in the area just fell over and died. Straight out of one of those cartoon westerns. Not doing MF until Ive completed a few more challenges. It just isnt worth the hassle of juggling resists and suchlike. But enjoying thee thread...gives me ideas and pointers. | |
" The reason they aren't in the main thread is because quantity is more scarce, and if you have to make a decision while you're leveling the build between Aurseize and Sadima's, you pick Sadima's, hands down, everytime, until you can get your hands on a Goldwyrm. By then, you can get Andvarius, which renders Aurseize a moot point. There's also another tidbit addressed in the FAQ about it. Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018.

Well those twinned T15 Core Groups are sure hit and miss.
The latest I joined was fantastic. Got 12 boss kills out of the group - didn't die once. Only had maybe 1 or 2 deaths from the party members during the entire run. |

" IR for me, always. I also run Enduring Cry instead of Blood Rage. I played this build the firsttime pre-Ascendandy patch as a Ranger and with Acro/Phase in Warbands and never even made it to 90 for all the dying. (granted, I was an inexperienced player, started playing two weeks before Warbands hit). Started going IR in Talisman and never looked back, I still die but it's rarely and the trip to lvl 90 is smooth sailing. I find IR to be a lot more forgiving compared to Acro. "After 90 I pretty much run everything, T8 the lowest, T10 is easily sustainable and the ones I run most of the time. Sitting at T12 right now and it's all good and doable, though I reroll BM and no regen because it's way too time consuming to be efficient (or enjoyable), Temp chains + chilled is a brutal slog as well. " I don't bother rerolling anything before T6 and start alching at T6, no rerolls though. I usually don't reroll for packsize or anything, only rolling off shitty/undoable mods, Map droprate is insane in AoW. " Absolutely this! Posting these thoughts from the perspective of a not-so-hardcore player. Last edited by Sacrifized on Sep 26, 2016, 4:32:24 AM

@hank Damn, I didn't know you still needed Kalria; the only OgR map I ran today had her in it :/
" Swap for a quicksilver for a mana flask for no regen, clear speed is more or less sustainable (as long as it's not some labyrinthine map type like Torture Chamber or something). Blood Magic's easy, drop auras and go. Only starts to get problematic for around T11+ I'd say for your average player, but as a veteran, I've done T14 BM's without slowing down. I reroll chilled EVERY time. I simply can't stand that mod. UGH. It's like EVERY time I get chilled, I get fetid shamblers, too. :/ Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018.
