Damn, got lucky - Izaro's treasure chests dropped me an Ex on Cruel.

Can decide whether to buy a perfect Andy, or 2 entry level rolls of same.

Not sure what lower-rolled Andies are going for atm (done enough poe.trade PCing today :P)

But let's say you can get a 55% for 0.5ex each.

One perfect Andy = 15/70 = 85%

vs

Two 15/55's (you can bless yours up to 15% implicit pretty easy) = 70% * 2 = 140% IIR

55% IIR difference.

Pretty significant in terms of how fast you'll be able to farm that exalt back. About 40% faster with dual Andvarius rings.
Low rolled Andies are ~30c at the moment. The thing is, I don't have the resist gear to safely equip dual Andies yet, and by the time I do, I *should* be able to afford another decently rolled one.

Or, I could buy 2 low rolls and play carefully for a bit. :)

The way I do it is I cover off resistances with Purity (rather than running Grace), and then balance the rest off the tree. Scion starting 18% nodes OpieOP. That and Cloth & Chain nets a total 33% resist-all. It's kinda poo investing the five points in just resistances, but it's really beneficial to get the farming going sooner rather than later, too.

A tradeoff I'm willing to take.

That's a damn fine idea, thanks!

So in your opinion, a andvarius same as ventor 7 40? I think a decent ventor 10 35 with middle res is help me a lot than a 70 andvarius -20res
A PERFECT Andvarius is the same as 7/40 Ventor's.

10/35 is close to what a perfect Andvarius would provide as well, but -20 res honestly isn't that hard to cover off. Spent 14c on jewels to get it done, and each jewel has either two damage rolls or a life and a damage roll as well as the resistance.

Much easier & cheaper to get a perfect Andvarius than it is a top-rolled Ventors.

This guide is aimed at making it as easy as possible for newer players. Which means, Andvarius is the easier choice, economically speaking.

Serleth, a guildy asked me about the gearing order on this build, and I told him to check the first post. He told me it wasn't there. So I went and checked, and now I can't find it either. Am I blind, or did we lose that in an edit somewhere along the way?

From memory, it was something like:

Sadima's, Andy, Goldwyrm, drop Sadima's for rare gloves with IIR, second Andy, Drillneck, +3 bow, Carcass Jack. The last three are in no particular order.

This league, the Drillneck would go much sooner in the progression because it's dirt cheap.

Second question in the FAQ answers it, it just moved, because it's less part of the guide and more something I just answer when someone asks. Gearing progression is really whatever you want it to be.

My advice basically boils down to

* Add MF
* Add more MF
* Buy upgrades
* Profit

:P

Get a bit of IIQ (Sadima's or Goldwyrm) and add IIR wherever you can then go from there, eventually adjusting to add damage with the bow upgrade or Drillneck as you see fit.

You bring a good point, Drillneck's dirt cheap this league but I'm not going to change the progression I've stated in the FAQ because that's bound to be something that changes league by league.

As I suspected, that was going to boil down to me == blind. :) Thanks!

Made my first ever Atziri run 5 minutes ago. Thanks to Serleth's video, I had some idea about boss attacks. Our ability to deal damage and avoid attacks at the same time helps a lot there! Died only 2 times, by running out of flask charges at Atziri herself, and I consider this very good result. Even more, she dropped these two items:

Now that is a lucky run! Mortal hope, I guess, is the rarest fragment and that's why it is listed at around 2ex at poe.trade. I haven't enough experience to price the bow, but it looks that due to +20cold res it should cost around 1ex. Although, it hasn't space for crafted mod... Damn I need to get more experienced at such things :-)

NICE drops! Pricing that bow isn't actually that tough - just price it a bit high, and drop it every couple days until it moves. Alternately, there's nothing wrong with keeping it and using it!

Mortal hope is selling for ~120c, which is a bit under 2ex at the moment, currently it's ~67c:1ex
