[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

Hi Serlet and all other

many people here youse the goldwyrm boots.
But they only have 10 % movement and i hate to have
no 30 %
Is the quantity from this boots realy so good?

all in all i played a TS build the last leages and was
tired to play it again. So i tried this one and its a nice
build but its not so direct like TS and i have some problems with it.

I have always mana probs because i shoot to often and dont let the
cloud do the work.
Ans what do you do with fast bosses following you. Thats verry anoying
for me.
And till now i had noch chace to kill merciless lab boss in stage 3.

Any tipps ?

and the last comment. I found the guide verry useful, but had problem that i dont understand
the deadeye occultist comment. I dont realise what to take first and so it was helpful to
see other players skill tree to understand that it should take a ranger AND a witch
class.
Perhaps some other player have the same problem and you can explain it a bit. :-)

Thanks a lot for the guide

The +quantity on Goldwyrm is very important for magic find.

When chased by bosses/fast mobs, use blink arrow (your blink clone will often take aggro) and quicksilver flasks.

Wither of course applies a bit of movement speed slowdown and your wither totem (though it doesn't taunt) will often take aggro.

I suppose you could curse with temporal chains and use ice shot for applying curses; I tried that in the past and it's really safe. I believe that Havoc did this, dual cursing with Temporal Chains and Enfeeble on his Poison Arrow build.

Finally CWDT-Arctic Breath-GMP-Chain is amazing - try it if you still have problems avoiding fast mobs.

hey Palar

yes those were all taken in a previous 'pre jewel'-version of the tree.
we also started off from scion's resistance route (3 x 18%) instead of the projectile damage route, took cloth&chain and went for primal spirit. The logic behind was that we would not have all the jewels at hand at very early stages of the leagues. the jewel-based tree is only after you have managed resistances and other mandatories that we re-allocate the points towards more damage / frenzy / jewel slots nodes.

this may have been lost, anyway, common sense and the absolute flexibility at hand we really can approach obstacles differently :)

how is it going for you in Perandus?

Started A2 Merc, level 64 atm and going, preparing slowly for my 2nd Andy ring
Gear

Jewels

Not using this one yet, need to spec to third slot:

After the 2nd ring is in, gonna remove Aurseize for rare gloves
EDIT: got the replacement gloves now
Spoiler

Also, they should give us more slots for active skills, have to put 2 auras, golem and wither totem into 1 slot basically and rotate out to recast xD

+1

I'm glad that Path of Exile hasn't turned into the hotkey proliferation absolute mess that is World of Warcraft... still, one or two more hotkey slots would be fantastic.
As a scion, what are the recommended Ascendancy points?
I am looking to ascend to day and i was curious.
thanks
@jp: someone recommended taking 1 point Witch and 1 point Ranger with your 1st lab ascendancy for 40 DEX and 40 INT to make skill leveling requirements easier... then finish Ranger to take Deadeye in Cruel/2nd lab... and finish Witch to take Occultist with the 3rd... much better than taking 40 DEX and a skill point for sure

@ichbin: I think swapping out Goldwyrm for 30% movespeed boots might be an option if you go the double Ventor's Gamble route with rings instead of Andvarius... more expensive I think, and you probably have to work harder to get 300 IIR, but it achieves what you want if you can afford it (I haven't tried to)...

Thanks to others for tips on Argus/etc... I recently basically replaced Rallying Cry with Vaal Lightning Trap... can see the difference, and I rarely used Rallying Cry anyway...

I also feel the limits of the skill bar... I swap out Blood Rage to cast Grace/Clarity, and was swapping Portal for Flame Golem as needed... now I swap Portal for Vaal Trap and replaced Rallying Cry with Golem and can keep Wither Totem, Flame Golem, Blood Rage, Blink Arrow, Vaal Trap on keyboard and CA, Frenzy, Move on mouse...

Almost envied the "simplicity" of that Cast on Flask build the other day on reddit... 2 auras on bars and otherwise empty bars...

The quantity from them is really essential, however, so is the mana regen!

Deadeye and Occultist, from the Ranger and Witch choices respectively. You also get two extra passive points to allocate on the regular tree, as well as +40 dex and +40 int.

Someone pointed out earlier in the thread that you can cheat and put flame golem on your primary movement key. If you just click, you move. If you shift-click, you cast golem. :)

Hey Hank, I've wanted to ask this for some time now;
What do you think about Phase Run? I'm using CWDT + IC + PR. It consumes a Frenzy charge (the longer you run I think) but the %30 faster movement + phasing (opening chests or getting jumped by fast monsters, ganging and blocking the way) and above that the -%80 visibility saved me so many times. Still, I was thinking if I should replace it with a better option or add something else to the combination to increase survivability chances. I would be grateful if I had your opinion and the others on the matter, to see how they're doing.

Thanks,
