[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

Alright, I made this build with my ranger, and it's simply awesome.

Got a question, though.
So, I can quickly run lv 68-73 maps. I like 73 maps more since they can give ilvl 75 loot. I can easily run 74-75 maps too, but they sometimes seem not to give even the map's value. I got 72 IIQ and 239 IIR.

The question is, which tier maps do you find mostly profitable? And should I aim for 77+ maps in terms of profit, or do lower maps earn more in time?

As I assume from your profile (characters are set private) you play in standard (no challenges done, and by the time you hit maps you should at least have a handful of challenges from story bosses).

So assuming standard, run the maps you a) don't die and b) clear fast. Both a and b contribute to generate income. playing in standard also means you won't sell rares a lot, since the market is saturated from all the previous leagues + hc deaths. You will mainly make currency from 6s, raw drops and alteration shards from selling the loot. convert those lower currencies to higher ones (chaos, fuses, exalts).

You can be super lucky in t1 maps like I've been in this challenge league or get dry runs in t13 (like I've been last league), don't worry, farm your way and collect the shinies :)

You could have just asked :P

Yeah, I play in standard. Starting from scratch in leagues is kinda scary to me :P

And thanks!

in standard it's generally easier to start because you have a stock of gear, but it's also generally harder to make a bank because of the stocks of gear all around. the available amounts of currency make for very high prices in general for useable stuff, then there's the curse of the legacy items and so on.

why do leagues scare you?

i lov'em because it's a blank sheet, lots of cash to be made from sales you wouldn't dream of selling in standard also there's new and exclusive content to be experienced. ofcourse each to his own likings mate :)

Grats on the fantastic progress you're making towards challenge completion, Chrono!

Out of curiosity, which of the challenges do you think might be potential roadblocks?

Why thank you hank :)

Kill the Avatar of Thunder: at the very moment I just know of one guy doing avatar services, maybe this will pick up in the next few days.

Identifying the 4 Rigvalds: will be costly, would halve my bank atm at the very least.

The div card one is for dedicated ones atm (set of 10), but they'll introduce new ones soon-ish. A guy in HC Tali did it tho already, and then there's Ranggarn from reddit at 32/32 already :O

Zana 8: just a matter of time and luck. She already has 480k xp out of 1'400k so it depends on my playtime alot. 820 helps heaps there, many guys sharing now from high maps too.

I'll see what's to be done first, I have some low hanging fruits to get first (1 recipe, one talis to claim) and then the real work starts :)

Are you guys using amulets or %Chaos Dmg talismans?

Your thoughts are pretty much inline with mine. Not sure how hard Thunder is - I'm gearing/leveling an OP OP build to handle hard content though so hopefully this is doable - the 4 Rigwald's might indeed be a big problem, but there's so little information about what he drops as a function of sacrificed talisman level that it's not clear just how hard this is - Zana is just a time sink - new 10-sets could potentially make the card turn-in a lot easier.

So for me, it's the divination cards and potentially the Rigwald uniques that are the potential deal breakers.

For Avatar, Cosa16 (not sure what his POE name is and whether he's on hardcore or softcore) has a reddit post relating how he's farming it on his Whispering Ice build. Maybe he'd be willing to do a run for a map contribution.

Hi Guys

I have question about lvling. Now i have 91lvl(32%). I usually make maps tier 6~8.
But lvl is very slowly.

You have some advice or tips for more faster lvl.
Better lower maps but more safetly or higher but more dangerous(drop 10% of experiences)

Best Regards
I finally had some luck (ex drop + taste of hate) and was able to buy my 6L +3 bow :)

Here is my current stuff:

Spoiler

The jewels are almost the same: 1 stat dps + maximum life

For my next improvements, I think of either:

1) Get a Carcass Jack and drop the AOE gem for an Empower to go more DEEEEPS
2) Get Drillneck and Poacher's Aim

I have played for 1 week without the AOE gem (in 5L) and with 0 quality CA. It's not that bad and with Carcass Jack it should be even better so I think it's better to drop the AOE gem to get Empower, what do you think ?

What do you think I should start with ?

Thanks a lot :)
