[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)
" Just giving an example of what serleth said above. I ran a couple of cowards trial in my 5l bow and replaced level 2 empower with iiq gem. The dps downfall was quite a lot in terms of actual clearing speed Edit bow is +3 Last edited by fakeThranduil on Sep 19, 2015, 5:38:59 AM

Thanks for the build it really pays off :D
Got these two this morning in total of 5 runs. Also the build is quite fun to play and fairly easy. https://imgur.com/a/JL1eg Last edited by Gulanfer on Sep 19, 2015, 6:38:46 AM

For someone that's just starting out and have 0 currency, which leveling method do you recommend?
Also, should I start in warbands or standard? HC is not for me. |

Well there just so happens there's a spoiler called "Serleth's Recommended" levelling. ;)
Second post of this thread. Warbands is ending in about two weeks so I'd go Standard to get a feel for it, then later on decide whether you want to play in temporary challenge leagues or stick with permanent. Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018. Last edited by Serleth on Sep 19, 2015, 4:20:32 PM

Just want to chime in for people that haven't done a MF build before. The last 4 days I ran all my un ID rare maps up to 75, about 30 to 40 of them and ended up with a little more than 2 tabs of uniques. Here are the screen shots.
Spoiler
I'm currently running 261R, 61Q. Yea, I had some quantity on gear that I kept around forever. |

Would it be any good to run this kind of character with armour (spending 4 extra skill points for IR, and dropping acrobatics), or would the waste of evasion from DEX and lack of dodge be too much to make this worthwhile?

" Evasion is better until higher level maps (80+) where the entropy mechanic starts to be devastating, as every hit that does get through hurts like hell. At that point as long as your mechanical skill is up to it, evasion is still overall better as it buys you that fraction of a second needed in order to flask or blink arrow. What this basically means is that Evasion / Acro allows you to be reckless and make mistakes as long as you have the ability to recover from those mistakes. The net results is that your clear speed is better because you can fuck up and still not die. But if your reaction time isn't on point, that's where the entropy can get you killed and IR is better. It forces you to be a bit more careful since you get hit by everything, but by the same token you'll be able to sustain those heavy burst shots when they do happen. That's my personal experience, anyway. And keep in mind that the above commentary is referring specifically to high level (79-80+) mapping. I'd say for anything 78 and lower, as long as you're taking the full Acro / Phase pathing, Acro and Evasion is better. The damage drop-off is easily survivable with a high enough life pool (4.8k or so) and the aforementioned ability to be reckless and quicksilver through maps means you shave probably 30s or so off each map clear. Also, with just the Acro keystone itself, it's a 3 point difference. +1 point from removing Acro, then -4 to get to IR (net, -3). I find most people now take the three dodge nodes after Acro, however. In which case it's an identical point exchange. Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018. Last edited by Serleth on Sep 20, 2015, 7:08:53 AM

Yeah, I might end up taking those last dodge points, eventually. Probably have to grab some more 5% nodes in scion circle first, to at least pass 4,5k hp.
| |
How do I get more damage? Currently at 3k chaos damage per second.

Gem levels. Nodes. Frenzy charges. 5L. +3 bow. Drillneck.
