[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

I'm by no means the right person to reply I suppose but I want to try to give my 2 cents, to me, using all the uniques for MF and Kaom's heart in addition seems like gimping, a good rare chest will give you not only a truckload of evasion but 5/6L, 30-40 tri-res if you are lucky and maybe even 100 life.
That should help with the res part atleast, also until you get enough currency etc maybe switch out 1 of the rings with a good res one atleast?

@Imagang for you the next thing I would focus on would be a 6L either chest or bow to get the item rarity gem included, it really helps alot if MF is indeed what you are going for.

Well, I can probably switch to an Eva chest without much issue, for example:

Or even a Belly. But Kaom's is useful since the build itself is Blood Magic

Dunno, feel like I'm spending too many Alterations trying to craft 3-4 Mod Jewels and it's been a pretty nasty currency sink thus far, really need to be saving exa instead of buying piles of Alts, and I'm playing a Scion so I have 9 Jewel Sockets atm, a few at least that need upgrades still. Greed's looked okay initially until I realized I'd literally be in the negatives, so maybe Ventor Gambles if I can find them at a nice price. But was just asking based on general survivability, makes me feel a little cringy to be entering higher zones (suppose I wanna farm 75 maps with an MF setup)
Fake Temp League Elitists LUL
well that's 2 options, either farm slightly lower level maps for currency or make the swap with gear to more survivability as you see fit (:

@imabang318: Yeah. Just the usual finalized gear upgrade stuff (goldwyrm, andy) to max the MF out but you're doing great. Nice rings and amulet.

Just wanted to ask about the MF aspect of the build a little bit.

I'm running a little low on Alterations (rip Jewel crafting...) and I wanted to get some feedback from others. I'm thinking just fast Dried Lake runs so I have some currency to sit on again.

How do people feel about the survivability of the build with Resistance penalties in Merciless? Mainly from using Andvarius x2 and other items? I am playing the Blood Magic version of the build but I would imagine the concepts still apply. Gear for reference:

Would be looking to replace gear slots with:

And other MF gear when I obtain it. Would be losing pretty much all of my positive resistances in Merciless.

I can't see your tree (characters are private) to see if there's anything going on there but I'm telling you right now if you're worried about resistances, there's no way you're getting Perandus and Aurseize to fit in a Blood Magic build with dual Andvarius' up and still somehow hitting res cap. Especially not with Kaom's Heart in. At that point Purity of Elements becomes a necessity, which is precisely the reason we use rares in those slots: to avoid having to do that. The build's function is to MF with good life and capped resistances at the cost not going completely full tilt MF.

Kaom's is fine on its own for BM but again, resistances. That's why we use a rare chest there until we can get sufficient jewels or a multimodded (or super lucky) bow with resistances rolled to get Carcass Jack for the QoL of the AoE. I think with 9 jewel slots you'll probably be fine to keep Kaom's in but it's going to require some work to get done in terms of the right jewel and gear rolls.

I current run 5.2K life (non BM) at level 94 with fully capped resistances and 19/306 MF. So, survivability's not an issue. I can comfortably do 81 maps, and can do 82 Abyss and Colosseum as long as I gear swap for those two bosses into survival gear.

Which brings me to your bow. Kill that attack and projectile speed. It's pointless from the MF end of things. Get resistances on your bow instead. That'll be a huge help.

All that in turn brings me to your initial question: alterations. Once you spec into doing MF with it, alterations are not going to be a problem. When I have the time to put in an 8 or so hour day, I clear 2 columns of alterations if I'm super distracted. Often I hit 3+ columns (36+ stacks).

As for where to farm: maps are just too good now. The addition of getting IIR rolls on maps makes farming regular bosses sub-optimal unless you have a 4-man+ party doing split runs with a culler. For soloists, you need to be mapping all the time, even if you just speed run low-level maps to the bosses.

Why aren't you using Iron grip support instead of Slower Projectiles late game?

Compare for yourself and save 40% mana multi because iron grip gem is free.

Hi Serleth!
You have made an awesome build - I'm having tons of fun.

I'm having trouble killing some map bosses. Is this normal? I've died 2 times to Dominus in Residence and I've alt+f4'd on numerous others.

Also, could you take a look at my character and give me any general suggestions if you've got the time? It's the lvl 88 Ranger.

I really appreciate your help!

Everything looks fine though I suspect your life might be a bit low. Residence Dominus is the only one that actually gives me trouble, oddly enough. I find even the 81 map bosses easier. I just can't time the explody minions like I can in Palace. Probably just need more practice. I usually skip that map. Hate the structure of it.

I don't have a problem with any other map bosses other than Labryinth, and only on an extra-damage map at that. Although I couldn't beat him until I got the +3 bow and a level 19 PA going.

Anyway, long story short I need a few things from you in order to answer your question better:

a) What's your life pool
b) Can you give me a specific list of bosses you struggle with?

Why do you have trouble with labyrinth map boss btw? I thought that would be easy just doging the balls and such, or am I thinking of a different map?
