Cyclone is the only thing 2handers have because it works with everything.

That logic says that swords don't need a nerf. Swords need a nerf MUCH more than 2h need a buff. It's not even close. Anything considered weak is only weak by comparison.

agreed. Pretty sick and tired of hearing people calling for nerfs when they dont even understand the root of a problem. Calling for nerfs repetitively out of lack of knowledge of meta only causes more imba game play down the road. Maybe lower the damage of elegant swords/jagged/antique so other builds arent affected. Mace 1h and axe might be in a better spot then.

Lowering the dmg would just encourage ppl to go ele sword which is probably just as OP (haven't tested yet but its presumably just as powerful). I think the change really needs to happen in the sword specific nodes. Maybe its something that your alpha squad can test? a naked elegant sword vs a naked t1 axe (whatever those dinosaurs are called) and see which is more efficient. Basically all naked weps should have the same 50/50 overall. If the naked duels are clearly imba then nerf base swords, if they are not then nerf nodes. Clearly the huge lopsided meta of sword just takes away a much wider variety in
LLD.

aside from the block pene that sword gets, axe usually has much better damage nodes through out the tree. Mace gets countered by cannot be stunned and also doesnt scale as well as sword with lgoh. 1H axe has potential. I think why sword is so dominant is the attack speed and range usually associated with elegant and jagged foils. axe and mace need a little more niche nodes to fill out the meta. More bleeding for axe maybe and mace needs to have something other than stun, maybe a small global defense penetration or armor penetration(not nearly as good since many builds dont use armor).

Yeah not a bad idea but I bet doing that we'd find them to become too strong. I don't think the issue is a lack of nodes for either of the other weps, just too big of a base-wep gap and node selection for sword.
Um all of the top Melee Cycloners in Torment HLD are using Atziri Axe. It's range, dmg and bleed is crazy OP. People can literally Kite with it they have such huge range. Swords are definitely NOT the strongest weapon right now.
